  1. Some more of my Yak 18. Found a few more skins for her. Thanks for viewing.
  2. Thanks mate, I think my paintshop programme has a resize feature on it, I'll check it out.
  3. I tried to load some stuff last night but it wouldn't go on, I then noticed the thing about max 2MB, My PC seems to be loading them from screenies at around 2.25MB, just got to figure out how to shrink them! Wish there was a bulk way of doing that!
  4. The fireman stood on the platform of the tender from what i've seen on photos of the real one. I've also seen photos of the tender attached at the other end with the firebox accessed at that end. It is something of a mystery. The replica that runs has the tender and the firebox at the other end so that the protruding pistons operate away from the crew. It only moved at about 5mph max so presumably it could be stopped to shovel more coal in when in use. The basic engine was in fact a normally fixed base boiler mounted on wheels for the purposes of the experiment. As you say, the thing looks lik
  5. You 've seen some of my aircraft and ships, but this is a bit out of the ordinary for me. Richard Trevithicks "Penydarren" Locomotive from 1804. The model is approx 1/38 scale. It was designed as an educational model but after checking a few reference photos I've added some more detailing. (steam relief valve, pressure guage, contol rods, side rails on the tender) Paintwork is a matt black base with various metal shades and graphite from an HB pencil! All the external mechanical parts actually work, the only thing it can't do is produce steam! As usual comments welcome. thank
  6. Thanks Guys, it was a real challenge doing that, Often my PC will run out of rams or something after a long flight like that and freeze up, however on this occasion it behaved itself. Once I'd got her up to altitude I set the autopilot and got on with other things, just hitting the V button every so often. It was fun to do though, and made a change from the usual trainers and fast jets I usually play with.
  7. I didn't say they were doing it for idealocial reasons, I just said they were doing what they said they'd do, rather than Cameron who is just pissing about and trying to decide if he has a backbone!
  8. Good looking bird, looks really odd in British markings, Same as seeing Spits in German etc.
  9. Airbus A321 of Alitalia in the retrojet scheme. Departed Verona, Northern Italy around 15:30 local time, after departure took a short excusion along Lake Garda but due to low cloud this proved fruitless and we climbed out and headed for Gatwick, London. flown in real time, the trip took just over 3 1/2 hours. Upon landing the ground control tried to marshall me onto a gate already occupied! Therefore disobeyed instructions and found an unnocupied slot! Here's how it went. We start as we begin to rolle at Villafranco, Verona Airport......
  10. Very nice, typical Manchester weather.
  11. On the news tonight, Russia has stepped up operations, footage of TU160s and TU95s in action launching cruise missiles and heavy bombs over Syria. They have also been instructed to work with the French to basically flatten the place!
  12. I was just going to say the same, definately confirmed as a bomb. I think ISIS may have just woken a very angry giant! They may have been complaining about Russias air raids already, but I suspect they will get a whole lot worse now, now, coupled with the French raids, they are going to have a whole new heap of pain poured down on them!
  13. The SP was an ultra long range version of the 747. They carried less passengers but more fuel. Many of the survivors are now used as flying gin palaces by rich Arabs. the shortened fuselage also meant that the tailfin needed to be bigger as did the tailplane which was repositioned. Not to be cofused with the 747SR which used mainly in Japan for very high density short range flights. They carried extra passeners all in coach class but less fuel. Externally they were the same as a standard 200 series. http://www.747sp.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_747SP
  14. Nicely done. I'd be tempted to remove the info bar at the top though.
  15. I think it was the Posky one if I remember correctly.
  16. B747SP heading home. Thanks for viewing.
  17. Took one of my favourite runabouts, the Yak 18 , from Barrow-in-Furness (EGNL) across to RAF Leeming (EGXE). I flew in real world weather and it was bumpy to say the least! The tail end of storm Abigail was still bashing the coast. The Yak though is very forgiving and a delight to fly, she made her unhurried way eastwards and landed as the sun was going down, I'd judged it to the last minute as during the taxi-in she ran out of fuel! Anyway, enjoy the flight. ( I didn't get any take off shots as due to the wind I had my work cut out to keep her stable on the climb out,
