  1. Figured I better start a new AH company since I got a new computer...
  2. Ooooohhhh... that is an old school straight tail 172, they are a lot farther off the ground and the panel surround is different. You did a nice job transitioning the paint to the more streamlined shape of the new "body style" 172
  3. I both agree and disagree with John, yes the market is small and a very specialized niche, but also, there are people willing to pay $XX.XX for me to take them in a 182 to places 100-200 miles away. I just finished writing up the specifications for my companies 135 application, we have two and maybe three planes (C172, C182 and BE55) soon on it, so I have the rules pretty fresh in my head. In my neck of the woods, Iowa, there are a fair amount of farmers with more money than time that want to purchase seed, machinery, whathaveyou from all over the midwest, so my company tries to capita
  4. Cool! Set the 430 to North up... It will make your life easier.
  5. Ahhh... the AWTC... its good to see it back, amazing the difference in screen quality and addons from the first AWTC. I love it!
  6. Yup... exactly how I remember it... zillions of miles of nothing and then you cross the mtns and Vegas appears. If you are flying out of VGT, be sure and learn the Northturn 1 departure
  7. Excellent repaint... I have difficulty understanding why everyone wants their repaints to look like they are one flight away from the scrapyard. If I showed up in something like that as an instructor, I am POSITIVE the student would have second thoughts about riding in the airplane. There are no and I mean no airplanes that are that dirty for any extended length of time, sure it may be dirty till it gets back to home base and gets a bath. Nothing against your repaint, it is excellent, just curious...
  8. I did ask specifically if it was the one that Paul Allen owns... it is not. It was on a cross country flight from somewhere in Florida to the Evergreen Museum in Oregon, the N number is 447FW, afaik it is legit, he said it was restored in Germany back in the 80's, other than that, he was pretty tight lipped about it.
  9. Really? Is this an FS thing? Every aircraft I have flown with the excellent 430 all had moving map displays, they also showed the airspace, restricted areas, etc.
  10. Whoop, whoop! I took advantage of that sale aslo... except in USD it was nearly 4 times as much haha
  11. What a story!... you said you write? I would love to read some of what you have authored, I like your style
  12. Just started SPK167 with service to Palm Springs
  13. Well yes and no, our hawk uses a dual mag in a single case so when one fails, it takes about .0000000000000001 seconds for the other one to fail. A pretty stupid design really...
  14. Today, I was about 1000 agl just east of the airport, my student was flying, he turned toward the airport to join the downwind and gave it some power but nothing happened. He told me that the engine quit in a conversational voice so it took me a couple of seconds to process what he said, I then said my airplane and landed it on a dirt road just off of the highway... Really glad to get the experience, I never want to go through it again. http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/Small-Plane-Makes-Emergency-Landing-Near-Independence-No-One-Hurt-216203641.html
  15. Don't worry sir... no one can afford it... it is something like $550 for just the midwest, I shudder to think what a worldwide subscription costs
  16. Yep~ Sorry, couldn't remember what TDS stood for to save my life.
