  1. I have the BenQ 35" Ultrawide (curved), and it's fabulous. The curved screen reduces parallax errors at the edges (although it doesn't totally eliminate them, but it's waaay better than a flat panel). I use it primarily for work, and the extra real estate is really helpful. I couldn't fit two equivalent sized panels on my desk (there's already a 27" iMac and 17" laptop!), so this format for me is the best compromise. I got it from Amazon during last year's Black Friday sale, at a considerable discount!
  2. Aerosoft Paderborn/Lippstadt Located in Germany, North Rhine Westphalia, Paderborn Airport offers a short hop to most central European airports and hubs or it can just be your home base for scenic VFR flights in the local area. Features: Detailed recreation of Paderborn airport Custom aerial images covering the airport and surrounding area Current runway, taxiway and stand layouts Custom taxiway signage Realistic night time lighting Accurate depiction of the terminal interior Custom jetway models Custom windsock models https://fo
  3. "non-brewed condiment" (what you get in chip shops instead of real vinegar)
  4. I checked out some of the flight plans in Plan-G (as you do...), and they definitely look like interesting trips Don't forget, you have to stop on the runway (despite years of contrary training!) for it to register each leg as complete.
  5. I think the lights in MSFS are pretty poor, to be honest. An the default airport taxiways just have lights and signs etc chucked anywhere
  6. Orbx's first freeware for MSFS, only though OrbxDirect. "Fairways Airport is the perfect general aviation base to sightsee the beautiful nature and historic cities of northern Oregon. Located just 12 Nautical Miles south of Portland, and 35NM west of Oregon's tallest mountain Mt. Hood, it is a fantastic airport to start your adventures and exploration from. With it’s two ~2.800ft grass runways and several hangars it is a place with plenty of life and like minded pilots." https://orbxdirect.com/product/og20-msfs
  7. If you have the SDK installed, you'll find fsdevmodelauncher.exe in the bin folder. Does the same job.
  8. Thanks James. Have just applied that, will try it out tonight....

Not saying anything, but you know who you are . . .
  11. Before we settled on Gibraltar, we did a quick early morning hop from London City to Heathrow. Well, it was very blustery so more of a bounce than a hop! The Thames has quite a swell on it, and our initial formation fell apart rather quickly. Perhaps the 152 wasn't the best choice for this flight! Didn't stop the traditional flight under Tower Bridge though (all default scenery) Curious thing: if you taxi (or park) too close to the aircraft in front, it turns into a ghost and vanishes! Weird!
  12. Cadbury's Variety Pack . . . made me the diabetic I am today...
  13. I think a lot of the early sceneries -- and aircraft -- will inevitably be portovers. There simply hasn't been enough time for developers to get to grips with the new tools and capabilities to produce something entirely new from scratch.
  14. All the files (90+GB of them) are on your hard drive. As with every previous version of FS, there was the opportunity to specify the install path on the screen with the install button (but we never see that "Browse" button in time, do we...). All the dds files are there, the aircraft.cfg file etc. However we still need to understand how the new packaging system works, so we can distribute repaints. But that will come... And now it's easy to relocate the installation after the fact, since it's just a matter of move the folder and change one cfg file reference to it.
