Here's a pickle I have with this. What happens if the cockpit windows are compromised and the entire cockpit gets doused in water?

PCL: Does it work/exist in FSX?
rabbitc replied to rabbitc's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
This is actually really easy to do with a ground-up code base - you just create the airport as a super-object with all the various bits and bobs as members. Object logic triggers on vicinity much like VOR/NDB beacons do now. If a comm radio for a given airport is tuned in and PCL is identified as a feature, it's not a big deal for that child to interact with another child which would control the lighting mechanisms of the airport. FSX was based on the old codebase though so there's no surprise that this is a huge undertaking under present circumstances. I am really geared for 'Flight' beca -

Shame...Thanks for responding though, Mut. Hopefully this is something they will patch up in 'Flight...' EDIT: Thanks Stu - that's interesting to note. Unfortunately, not how PCL works but a bit closer to reality than nothing. -
Thanks Charlie - I'll have a look and see if these guys have improved...

PC Pilot is getting damn'd hard to find as well. WHSmith used to be a guarantee but not lately.

I'd get PMDG again if I were convinced they could model pneumatic systems properly.

What a great video review - subscribed!!! I especially liked the little narrative at the beginning about the Dragon. I had an opportunity to see this fly at the airshow on Saturday and it was surprisingly sexy to watch. The engines had a unique quiet and rhythmic hum to them - a true pilot's bird. Thanks Needles - I will certainly get it when the penny jar is full again. (Rex cleaned me out for this month)

good to hear. I'm a firm believer in ensuring that a curious child is always provided with a knowledgeable and helpful adult on demand. :001_th_smiles89:

The big problem I see with that is finding a projector(s) that can keystone well enough to give a decent image (not cheap upon itself). I think you'd be constantly battling with warping on the edges, but who knows? A lot of money to invest before you're in a position to experiment though.

For sure - I hope someone was there to answer questions???

I just got back into the 'game' myself (shields face from flung sh*t) ..and I've decided to be very focused in add-ons as 'Flight' is on the way. So far though - I have purchased the following: REX2 (MUST HAVE) - texture enhancement and weather generator all in one - unreal value. This is highly recommended regardless of your system specs. LevelD 767 (upgrade from 2004) - still flies on the numbers in FSX although there may be better FSX commercial addons - not sure. Considering: - Carenado BN2 Islander - RealAir Beechcraft Duke B60 - Aerosoft Twin Otter Freeware: - Plan G

I had read that on CTV news web - I was quite blown away because that is damn hot, even for T.O. I've been in Scotland 7 years now and I'm still amazed at how much hotter the summers are getting back home. (for the record, I'm Hammer-born)

You won't see much melting asphalt over here - now flooded asphalt - we got lots of that :wootmesalia: Just remember, it ain't a proper summer in Ontario until a minor league baseball player gets struck by lightning.

Cheers John..

Just out of curiosity, Brian - have you looked into any LED solutions? EDIT: Ah, I see that has been suggested.
-
That will do nicely. Thanks Joe. Cheers, Devon.
-
Yeah - very happy man. Thanks for the advice, folks.

Nothing like a hot-roasted day in QEW traffic. You can practically watch the asphalt melt.

Sorry Mut - you were going for the family rather than take the clue literally. Good guess though On show at East Fortune are the DH106 and the ME163... Simi - yes, I can imagine that was a tear-jerking comment re the Concorde. It's a shame she was so thirsty. Let's hope we may someday see a modern, economical equivalent. John, those are great pics! Where can I sign up for the newsletter?

Ain't it great? I'm taking my three-year-old daughter (who is already aircraft crazy) to the East Fortune Air Show (Scotland, east of Edinburgh) in a week and she is absolutely over the moon about it. It's a smaller show - handful of acts but lots of great vintage aircraft on the ground (it's a museum in its own right) including two different types of 'Comet' (points to whoever knows both), a Vulcan and one of the infamous Concordes. We live right under the entry-point for Tweed approach for EGPH, so we see a fair share of traffic where we live. Also, being in tweed valley, we get a lot of

yeah, I concur. The payware (what's out there) is rubbish. Shame.

nt - any suggestions?
