Orbx FTX: NA Gold NCA - Northern California

Recommended Posts

Joe, thanks for that :)  I stand to be corrected, but I think there was some talk not long ago about them improving the vector roads somehow so that they didn't look as if they cut through the landclass textures below them quite so harshly?  That is one of the problems that makes Orbx regions look so unrealistic for me.  Has NCA received any improvements like that in the version you reviewed please?  Cheers K

Thanks for the read Joe, nicely drafted. :thum:  This is my next in line purchase, lot's to see here, looks great and I could use a Tahoe vacation. It even just covers my grandmothers house in Fresno.

Night lighting isn't as cool as it once was due to that darned Chris guy. :P  Looks more lush than I remember Calif. being but I'll take it. :)

Very timely and excellent review...thanks Joe.

This was already on my "buy next" list, thanks for the new look at it from your perspective.

This scenery absolutely covers my Home Area, I rarely fly past Salinas in AH...this looks like perfect coverage area for my normal flying...which got extended North thanks to their PNW scenery...ha.

I am especially looking forward to seeing Tahoe without MSE's "Bent Black Line" where California and Nevada don't quite join up...right through the middle of the lake. :(

I was watching this instructor style video, in a Piper, from over at A2ASimulations and was watching the scenery go by. I think ORBX did a great job matching up the color and feel of the fields, not to mention the trees, and came out with a viable sim scenery matching a RW look. I'm glad I went in this direction, scenery wise. JMO.  :)

(not that I don't think there's other stuff out there that is good too ;) )

Great review Boss.

This is also on my to get list.

I knew you couldn't resist the fly under the bridge.

It's a must do I suppose.

Cheers, this will mesh nicely with SoCal.
