I was in a Fry's store last night and saw "The World's Smallest Drone" at only 6 inches across, with blads less than an inch diameter...looked like alot of fun for 40 bucks. If I didn't live in a 33' sailboat docked in the windiest part of the bay, i would have kicked down for it. I can let 2ea. 20 dollar bills fly away in the wind anytime however without dealing with the packaging and disposing of a remote. :)

Your toy looks like it might handle a crosswind a bit better. Have fun!

that’s the Hubson X4, you can see him right under the Phantom for proportion
i played with that little bugger for few weeks; fun toy; but that’s all it is
funny you mentioned cross winds; it actually can stand in front of my AC blowing full force and hold for few seconds
than the vortex changes and it will get tossed around; but still heck of fun to play indoors

**cough** just found the website, maybe xmas 2016!!!

lol, i have a good excuse for that :th_blush:, :D
here's the site for the manufacture: http://www.dji.com/
and here the model i got; The Phantom 2: http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2

The Phantom 2 is an open platform where i can fit any GoPro or other cams

the other models Vision and Vision + come with built in cam and cannot be swapped

Wow, the Phantom 2 looks like a monster compared to the X4.

At least you can hone your flying skills first without putting any AV gear in jeopardy!

Jealous? Me? of course!!!

Have fun mate.  :thum:

Thanks Joe; my thoughts exactly

first flight report

im in the hills its hot with high gusts today

i first got her off the ground in a small test area; went ok

few alt tests; back and forth

gust withstanding test

all went ok

shaking my pants

my house is on a mountain slope,

with huge drop pass my balcony and nothing other than trees below

i flown her beyond my balcony and kept her there for few minutes back and forth making each forth longer and loner

than she went up, high to where it was a point to me; at that point i brought her back

landed it so softly; it was a joy

first flight was a complete success

she is so powerful and steady; serious gusts didn't nudge her slightly

Thanks Joe :thum:

you have no idea how nervous i was

taking her off the ledge; i was sure she will dip into the valley below

followed by me frantically trying to get her back up

but changing position to over the ledge when she was AGE didn't change her attitude one bit

(the Hubson was all over the place in and out of IGE with those tiny props)

i've recharged now and im off to the park
