brett 2,315
Doesn't this also happen, half aircraft, if DX10 is enabled in FSX on some planes? I still recommend getting Acceleration anyway, takes care of the need for the SP's and I have read it even goes a bit further as far as adding stability to FSX.
MyPC8MyBrain 273
SP2/Acceleration is a must!
dodgy-alan 1,587
Well hopefully that will sort it out. The DC-3 is a JF product for FSX and I didn't notice it saying that I needed FSX acceleration for it to operate correctly. Anyway I'll wait until the sytem upgrade arrives then try it again. As for reproggramming etc, I wouldn't know where to begin. That sort of stuff I leave to my tech engineer!
Captain Coffee 2,030
My JF DC-3 worked flawlessly without Acceleration, but I did have SP2 installed, so hopefully this will fix the issue.
brett 2,315
FSX will work with just having SP2 installed, I was referring to something I read that stated that when MS made Acceleration and based on testing by a third party, an Accel. installed computer ran in a more stable fashion.

Sorry Al, I should have mentioned that SP1&2 is available at JF's Customer support but as you're getting Acceleration it'll save you the hassle of the install. Good luck with it, hope it gets you sorted.
mutley 4,498
Al, have you got the DX10 preview mode switched on? If so, turn it off. Joe

mutley 4,498
Al, its on the main display setting screen, just a tick box, if you are unaware then it's more than likely that you didn't tick it as the default setting is off. I'm looking forward to see how things are going after your installation of the Acceleration upgrade.
J G 927
It looks like you are seeing the aircraft's inside from the outside if you see what I mean.
dodgy-alan 1,587
I've had some really weird visions, A Sopwith Camel pack that lost all its engine cowlings, A Trike that was just a pilot on a seat, A Bristol Fighter that was just rigging wires and crew. Another aircraft had no undercarriage, it's all really random.
ddavid 149
This is possibly a problem with a corrupted SP2. I would be inclined to make a copy of your Simobjects and Gauges folders (if you have installed any add-ons), then re-install FSX from the ground up, following the usual instructions about starting FSX before moving to the next step, etc. Install Acceleration and test again. You can then see if the problem remains and, if not, grab those add-on aircraft (plus gauges) from the saved folders. Simples! (Sounds of meerkat purring, off). Good Luck, Al'! Cheers - Dai.

Click on your Settings button from the Main page/click on Customize button at the bottom of the Display Settings section/ from the Graphics tab, make sure that the Preview DirectX 10 is NOT checked. This will help us move on to other things to look at.

brett 2,315
Thanks. Now hopefully installing Acceleration will fix it up. I hope it's not a Gremlin.

I like this solution. Except i would go for a full clean reinstall and then start installing the add on-s. That issue looks like when i tried to save time and did the same - copy back the airplanes from a prev install. Some planes needs to be installed using the installer, cannot be copied. Since you have issues with the ultralight too, something is really messed up there. But look at the bright side - at least you got Acceleration. . Good luck!
