Christopher Low 63
I would think so, Brett. Something along the lines of.......if you had provided full compatibility with Horizon GenX and JF VFR Real photographic scenery (and stated as such on the box), you might have sold quite a few more of those FTX UK airfields than you ultimately did. Summat like that That's not to say that you can't get them working with UK photoscenery. It's just that JV seems to go out of his way to indicate that ORBx stuff is not compatible with photoscenery, and that is a very strange attitude as far as I am concerned. To be honest, I am in the process of trying to work out how I made each of the FTX UK airfields work properly with the Horizon photoscenery, now that I have installed them on a new PC. I have managed to work out how to do it with every one of them......except EGHA Compton Abbas. I did it last time, so I will do it again. It's just taking a bit more thinking about

It's just taking a bit more thinking about I was just funning with Nigel a bit as I had remembered his initial posts after ES released the Scotland product Chris, a couple of points that I actually agreed with. As to your rehashed complaints about ORBX, good luck with your editing project but I must admit I am in the camp that thinks companies can make any choices they want and do not have to make concessions for other products, especially a competitor. It is what it is, buy it or not, lodge any criticisms once(or twice ) and then just try and figure out a work around yourself is my motto.
britfrog 180
as much as i like the ftx stuff , i dont like how heavy it is on vas on the p.c. if earth sims had produced a higher detailed version of the genx uk photoscenery without autogen I would be first in line , as i am not a great fan of autogen buildings, i think they detract from the scenery, i know quite a lot of you wont agree with this though. I am watching very carefully the turbulent designs scenery as they are combining IMHO the best of all worlds, ie the ftx detailed airfields with photoscenery and this for me is the way forward, high detail close to the airport reducing bit by bit as you get away from the region. ddavid 149
Funnily enough, Nigel, Earth Simulations have done just what you wanted: 1. Higher resolution photo scenery at 30 cm per pixel 2. No airfield scenery objects so that you can use your preferred add-on 3. Optional autogen - AutoGenESis packs are up to you. And the TurbulentDesigns airfields might well work in this way, as long as they used the 5 m mesh. Cheers - Dai. P.S. Has it stopped raining with you?!?

Has it stopped raining with you?!? has it buggery it is pissing down and 4.7 degrees so that means snow about 1000 feet up hill still looking on the brightside have the fire lit and have just got home from a lovely lunch at a resto an hours drive away and we bought three cars yesterday getting back on theme, i am all for buying es stuff when they get closer to civilisation , i dont do enough vfr (small a/c stuff ) to warrant the expenditure in the north. i use ftx for vfr in the uk at the moment combined with france vfr on the near continent. brett 2,315
To much vas Nigel? I didn't even know what vas was until you mentioned it. I don't even look at my fps. As long as what I am looking at through the windscreen looks smooth I keep flying, if and when it slows down, I just move my scenery and/or autogen down one notch and away I go. Worrying about fps is worse than worrying about what my bathroom scales shows.
