I am gluing a sharp pin to my Vkey

Recommended Posts

God I take way toooo many screen shots. I just deleted 1700 screen shots from the last three month!

As I was scrolling through the massive list of Unnamed Shots (...their are several gigs of Named Shots that didn't make the trash bin unfortunately) I kept asking...why?

Why did I take this one?

Why did I think anyone, even I would want to see that again?

Why is the folder of pics so fat?

Why do i drink when I fly?

So after the cathartic act of hitting DELETE on 1700 pics...here are 10 that got saved from the mess...why?

Why not? This is the Screen Shot section, not the cry about spilled screenshots section.

First up...new fun bird. Aerosoft makes an ultralight??? Had to check it out for 20 bucks and it does not disappoint.

American Aerolites Falcon for FSX.

Slow and fun for bombing around the grass and wave tops.

Nice fully functional VC reminiscent of the Bede5 cockpit.

Playing in the new A2A Piper Cherokee. Gosh fun. I have replaced 3 sets of plugs, a starter, and brakes so far...but it is in EXCELLENT condition overall. /knocks on wood. For some damned reason I opened a AH company in Milwaukee to try it out...during a winter storm...doh. On the first leg before the snow started...by the time i finished my first trip it was coming down in soft buckets.

A Chocolate Covered Cherokee livery from the AVSIM forums, flying it in more clement climes:

Loving the new CH-47 from MilViz/Nemeth Designs.

Practicing crosswinds in the MilViz C310R...note the rudder deflection. Really really love this twin.

And some randoms saved from the dust bin because they shouted PRETTY to me louder than many of the rest.

Aerosoft EAGLESOFT CitationX out for a spin...I finally learned how to align  the HSI's and get them working...woot!

I have an irrational love for this jet. It isn't the fastest, it isn't the prettiest, it's....just...a very comfy average speed, great viewed, easy to fly bird...and unlike the A7 it never flames out on me. :)

Thanks for looking...now where did I leave that box of tacks?

Nice selection there, I have literally hundreds of screenies stored on my external hard drive, at the moment they take up 14.2GB of the storage! I really should start culling them I think. I have seperate folders for different types of aircraft, ie jetfighters, british airliners, russians etc, then in turn they are subdivided into aircraft names, ie, hunters, Meteors , Saabs etc Its getting somewhat manic over there! :D

Heh...me too Alan...The external drive ends up storing Named Shots, but not quite that organized though. Mine are lumped into Aircraft and Helicopters...that's it.

It's like I have the world's easiest to use digi cam while flying FSX...and every shot seems to take two shots; "Oh, gosh that's pretty, CLICK"..."oh crap, the 'external view' notice is still up in the top right corner... wait...wait...wait for it...there we go, CLICK" :P  One or Two more for the trash eventually.

(edit...i just noticed that 6 out of 9 of the shots posted above have the external view notice displaying....DOH!)

OH...addendum to original post;

Just discovered last night that the Ultralight's rudders can splay out and act as Spoilers....nice. It was getting difficult to lose altitude in it without over speeding. Also discovered that short of shoving the nose skywards, there is no way to stall that thing. I can hold the stick full back, trim it full back, and idle the motor and it will fly in ground effect forever. I could NOT get it to stall out at altitude, it just floated along at 20kts perfectly flat and at a super gentle sink rate of 100fpm..

I am nominating this thing as "First Plane" everyone should learn to fly in...it would help folks learn to fly without worrying about that nasty "Crash Landing" learning curve. :)

Nice shots, Matt — I'm glad they survived the cull!     :)

I'm very new to Milviz (having recently taken advantage of their 48-hour half price sale), but I have to say that I'm very much enjoying my new Bell 407.

I'm now seriously considering their MD530F, too.....

But I have to admit that I hadn't bought any of their stuff before, hence I'm quite impressed.    ^_^    So I have to assume that their quality may have something to do with the fact that you featured two of their aircraft in your selection.   :D

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks for the kind words all.

Bruce, I have 5 MilViz products now and love them all. I think quality wise they have a tiny edge over Carenado in my perceptions...subjective ofc. MilViz stuff has a grittyness to the VC surfaces that Carenado lacks, which are too clean...albiet With scratches....but with very clean scratches and abrasions.

Their 407 is the best flying heli so far till I got the CH-47, which doesn't fly appreciably "better" but it carries a fark of  a lot more Air Hauler CDs and Snakes.

The 407 actually trims out with the yoke trim button...nice.

Your Livery looks great on it!!!

I got, and recommend them all:

Beech b55 Baron

Cessna C310R

Boeing Vertol Ch-47

T-38 Jet Trainer

Bell 407

Hi, Matt!

Great to hear your comments on the 407: it seems I got lucky with my first purchase! :-)

I agree that the yoke trimming is a great feature, too: it's important to me.

I'll be looking out for your other recommendations, when I'm next on the Milviz site. :-D

Many thanks indeed,

B.

Some outstanding shots in there Matt..

And as far as gluing a sharp pin to your V key, it really won't work. You'll just end up binding the function to a joystick button instead ;)

I like that second shot, nice and peaceful looking. :)

I take a few but I get into flying and forget to take a shot. After seeing a stunning place I gawk at it, fly by and then say to myself, "I should have taken a shot of that. :D
