Well thank you all - that was a fabulous welcome. Looking foward to joining in. I might bring a bit more X-Plane to the party - so I hope that will be of interest. Also using P3D. Have FSX Steam too. Always interested in everything else going on - love the post on the Vulcan for instance, which I last enjoyed 2 years ago at Fairford with my two sons - stunning. I am currently in the process of getting my PPL out of EGGP - bit late in life but I have the time now. So the whole world of flying is of great interest to me.

cheers

Peter

See if this might tempt you to try again. Set up correctly it is very good. The vid is XP10 with payware VFR Photoscenery (see Joe's review), with W2XP UK Pro (freeware/donationware). It is the Southampton area. The whole of the Engald and Wales is in the same detail. You will see how every building pretty much fits in with the road structure and how every forest, wood, copse etc fits in accurately just where it should do. It is totally accurate and very useful for practicing VFR. Excuse my dreadful video skills, but I hope you enjoy it. There are also a couple of vids of the Liverpool and Conwy/Llanduddno area on thhe channel taken in the Dreamfoil Bell 407 - helo flight model in XP is very good (but my helo skills are dreadful - I now know what the skids are for!)

Of course each sim has its own strengths hence I use P3D quite a lot and especially where I can't get a good visual for XP and also for my a2a and Real Air fix. Not got into FSX-SE so much just yet.

Will post a link to the Lake District over the next couple of days is it's of interest.

cheers
