Yes - especially if the current chatter about the VAS tuning turns out to be correct - i.e can run at nearly full settings with weather and it is apparently fast, smooth and does't OOM. That will also make probaby make it a very good platform for Oculus Rift.

cheers

I think we all deserve a flight simulator that takes full advantage of the hardware and software developments that have come to market over the past 8 -9 years. We must be one of the most harshly treated genres in computer "gaming".

P3DV3 should herald the start of a bright new future for developers and virtual pilots alike. However, it will be interesting to see if DVT's new flight sim is based on the ESP platform or a totally new program not compatible with the one we already have.

One of the problems with flight simulation is that we users expect the entire world to be modeled accurately; we want land, sea, mountains, coastlines, rivers, islands, cities and towns, geographical features, man-made landmarks, roads, airports, navaids, waypoints. Then throw in WX (real-world, historical or specify your own), airspace boundaries, traffic, ATC, realistic night lighting, good flight physics, multi-player, flyable models of a few dozen (at least) accurately modeled real world aircraft with realistic, working virtual cockpits, and the ability to add more and improve the existing ones.... It goes on and on. We're a tall order to please and I can't think of another gaming genre with requirements that come close to that. The only place where we're relatively easy to please is graphics - some games put what we are typically satisfied with to shame.
