dodgy-alan 1,587 Posted October 29, 2015 Report Share Posted October 29, 2015 For those of you who don't already know, XH558 made her final flight yesterday at lunchtime. It was kept fairly secret to stop thousands of fans from clogging up Doncaster airport. Thankfully the event was recorded and although there was a hiccup in the live feed, the flight was beautiful. A fitting , if subdued, end to the last wholly British 4 engined jet aircraft and the end of the V Bombers. She will be sorely missed by all those who love her. 1 Link to post Share on other sites

However she will be kept in a live, non-flying condition so that she can do fast taxi runs. There is also the hope that one day the aircraft may return to the skies under a new set of sponsors, however at the moment that is out of the question. It looked like the pilots didn't want to land. Bruce's inside shots and those looking out were also a treat. I would of loved to be there just to here it fly by and head heavenward.
