dodgy-alan 1,587
For those of you who don't already know, XH558 made her final flight yesterday at lunchtime. It was kept fairly secret to stop thousands of fans from clogging up Doncaster airport. Thankfully the event was recorded and although there was a hiccup in the live feed, the flight was beautiful. A fitting , if subdued, end to the last wholly British 4 engined jet aircraft and the end of the V Bombers. She will be sorely missed by all those who love her.

Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
I've just found this (apologies if it's been posted before) — footage of the Royal International Air Tattoo display 2015, but from INSIDE the Vulcan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kuE9A8bOzQ Cheers, B. Christopher Low 63
The Vulcan Aviation Academy and Heritage Centre (presumably at Doncaster Sheffield Airport) will apparently be the home of XH558 in the future. I think we can be confident that she will remain one of the most treasured pieces of aircraft heritage in the UK for a very long time to come

dodgy-alan 1,587
Yes, she is to become the centrepiece of an engineering academy. However she will be kept in a live, non-flying condition so that she can do fast taxi runs. There is also the hope that one day the aircraft may return to the skies under a new set of sponsors, however at the moment that is out of the question. brett 2,316
Two great videos, Alan's was cool with the close up shots and pressure vapor off the wings. It looked like the pilots didn't want to land. Bruce's inside shots and those looking out were also a treat. I would of loved to be there just to here it fly by and head heavenward. Glad there is one around in such good shape to enjoy your aviation history.
