Tobus[NL] 28
So immediately after finishing I went on holidays, figuring I'd do the last flight story after. Now that I'm back, I don't remember the details, other that it was cool again . So for you enjoyment, just the pics. Thanks for hosting this event and I hope to join on the next one. Tobus[NL] 28
To be honest I'm quite surprised I'm practically the only one telling about my endeavours.
Corsaire31 419
Nice report and pics ! I'm always surprised to see people can fly inside a windows frame with the FS menu and all this red text on screen. For me it's a total immersion killer...
brett 2,315
I fly in windows mode all the time and it never bothered me a bit, I'm so into what's on the main window I don't really see the other stuff. I don't keep the red info bar up because there is nothing there I need to see, especially my fps, but I do have PlanG running behind the scenes, not connected, for a reference map. Windowed mode seems to work better on my machine than full screen anyway.
Corsaire31 419
I also fly often in windowed mode with Plan G ( not connected either to do some VFR navigation ) or FS Commander ( on IFR flights ) on a second monitor, but I use FSX Borderless to have a full screen image. On my PC I have a higher frame rate in full screen than in windowed mode, even on a single monitor... Go figure ! Edited May 7, 2017 by Corsaire31
Captain Coffee 2,030
I also fly in window mode with all the text stuff turned off except Overspeed, and the Green bar used for Airhauler and ATWC. When I need to get to something on the desktop during a flight the transition from Windowed to Minimized is less jarring to my system than from Full Screen to Minimized. And worse yet, when I fly in Full Screen mode occasional system messages will pop up and cause FS to disappear/minimize...which is completely unacceptable when that happens during a landing. I think part of what is making the shots above look so c&^$$#*#d is they were probably captured using "System Screen Shots" instead of using the V key in game, or else the header bar wouldn't be showing in the pics...that and leaving the Menu Bar visible kind of detracts from the "immersion" of the images. These were a series of travelogues of the MEBAR. Cheers.
