jankees 917
Hi Guys, I'm new here, but a FS forum with screenshots pages, and a repainters section, how can I resist? That's what I do, I paint and I take screenshots, so I hope I'll fit in. Here's a few examples:

jankees 917
Thank you! I've been painting aircraft for a few years now, mainly WW2 aircraft, but recently I diversified to tubes as well. Another few examples: and warbirds posing as passenger aircraft:
wisemanp 0
Welcome! All I can say is wow! You seem to have some great skill there, I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. I tried my hand at repainting for an old virtual airline of mine a while back, and failed miserably... Cheers!
RB16015 0
Welkom Jankees... Is dit naar aanleiding van mijn shot op DutchFS? Sorry guys for de dutch conversation. mutley 4,498
Hi Jankees welcome to our forums I hope you enjoy it here A great introduction with your repaints of some of my favourite aircraft. like you, I like the older radial props rather than airliners  Our re-painters forum is not that busy but you obviously do not need our advice! Are your re-paints available for download anywhere. Groet, Joe
ddavid 149
Oh, My! Double Dutch!! But, hey "Dat is goed!" Welcome to the Mad-House that is known as The Hangar..... And, I'm afraid that's all the Dutch you'll get from me, too. Magic screen shots, by the way, are you a PhotoShop man? Cheers - Dai.
jankees 917
Thank you Joe! Yes, nearly all of them are available, but they are spread all over the internet. You'll find nearly all of them on either avsim (look for "Jan Kees"), sim-outhouse (look for "jankees" as author) and OZx (look under downloads). @Dai: I use photoshop to paint, my screenshots come straight out of FSX, just some cropping
mutley 4,498
Jankees, Can we call you Jan? Or what do you prefer to be called? We nearly always use our real names when talking on our forums! Your re-paint of the P-51D, is that the Flight1 / Aeroplane Heaven version? If so a link to a download would be excellent and I will feature it in my screenshots in my review up soon for the web site. Thanks, Joe

Thanks, Joe Jankees, or truth be told Jan Kees, is actually my first name ( I blame my parents), so that's what I prefer. As for the P-51, the one in this thread is the P-51B by Warbirdsim. That paint is one of the paints that is still in the paintshop, but it is nearly done.
mutley 4,498
ok Jankees it is? That is a very nice model and new to me, I love the look of the cockpit. I would like to see how it compares with the Flight1 version. Best's Joe
Soya 7
A warm welcome to the this forum, I am sure you will fit right in. I agree with the others, nice paint talent you have and great shots. And like Joe, I am looking forward to seeing that P-51 paint come out, it really looks fabulous. PS Het lijkt of veel Nederlanders en goeie talent hebben in FSX. PPS I am Dutch too, just said 'It seems many Dutch have a good talent in FSX'.
jankees 917
ok Jankees it is? That is a very nice model and new to me, I love the look of the cockpit. I would like to see how it compares with the Flight1 version. Best's Joe You can find the B-model here, I've done about 25 paints for it so far, which are all available on OZx I have tried the Flight1 P-51D, but deleted it, I did not like it at all. Wrong nose, wrong tail, ugly textures. A nightmare to paint too. I am not aware of any repaints for it, and there is a reason for that. The warbirdsim P-51B is much much better, especially since they've overcome some initial problems and cut the price by a substantial amount. It is also a dream to paint, with a fantastic paintkit. Mind you, that is just my opinion, other people may think completely differently. Warbirdsim is also working on a P-51D, which promises to be very nice indeed, but the one I'm really waiting for is the new accusimmed version by A2A, though that is still some way off I fear... Here's another one to wet your appetite: JanKees
mutley 4,498
Thanks JanKees, To be honest, the opinion you are expressing about the Flight1/Aeroplane Heaven model is what I am experiencing in my testing for my review. I have seen "Ferocious Frankie" in real life and have photos somewhere and I found the AH model/livery disappointing. I found the same with the P-38 from Aeroplane Heaven, I take it your paints of the Lightning are of a different model? Cheers Joe
jankees 917
I have done a few paints for the AH P-38, but the original release was too soon, there were still lots of mistakes in there. It has since been improved. However, it is still an older model, originally made for FS9. My pic is of the FSD P-38, which is, ironically, made by the same guy, but a few years later, and you can see he has improved with time...much better model! just look at this:
mutley 4,498
Yes she looks good close up, I think the quality and style of the livery makes a big difference to our perception (nl. waarneming?) of the quality of the model. Cheers, joe

Turns out I deleted the AH version, it was a FS9 port over, with the usual prop-behind-the-clouds problem. These are both true FSX, but one is an updated FS9 model, while the other is FSX only. let's do a more thorough comparison in the repaint forum?
mutley 4,498
The FSD model is the closest one?
CaptHill 0
Welcome to the forum Jankees! Your repaints look fantastic and i'm currently browsing Avsim for a tubeliner repaint of yours. You'll love it here, the hanger is one of the most friendly forums i ve come across. Rich

Instead look here for a few paints for the Captain Sim 727. There's also a military 727 here. Those are all my tubes that are available, they're the first tubes I ever did, so they are not perfect (but not bad either). The airbus paints are all for the Airbus by Aerosoft, which is scheduled for release in mid april I believe. a few pics:
