mutley 4,498
Apologies to those who have not been able to login to the new forum with your old password. Some members accounts converted ok some did not. If you cannot login, please mail Admin and I will reset your password and mail you back as soon as I can, it should be either by return or at least by the end of the day. I am hoping this, along with your birthday being set to 40 and some signatures and avatars not updating is all that we will find is wrong. Please anjoy all our new facilities. Aidan 1
Hi Joe- As you can see on my sidebar, I can only set OS and RAM. Searched around by cant seem to find out why.
stu7708 244
Hi Joe. Sadly I have to bring one more issue to the table. I noticed that some of my old posts are blank when I look at them. If I open up the editor and save them everything is visible again.. First noticed this in my last post in the screenshot section where my tread with the carenado Grand Caranvan was blank.. checked my last ATWC leg with the same result. Both of these are fixed, but I also saw that my two first ATWC legs (LEG 8 part I and II) are suffering from the same fate. Could you check to see if it applies to all users or just the orginator... Also, Tapatalk won't connect.. still says the site is temporarily closed...

mike H 456
Hi Joe, Me too could not login so i asked for a password reminder and received an e-mail with a new password, then changed it back to my old one and it worked for me. I thought hard about staying 40,but gave in and changed that too. PS Like the new look Joe. :icon_thumbup:

I should be able to restore any blank post if it is a problem, just point me towards them by clicking the # sign on the far left of the post to the right of your forum name, this will open a new window with the direct link reference. I haven't installed Tapatalk on this system, according to Rob the built in mobile interface is better? Try logging in using your browser and see how it goes, it that remains a real problem then I can install Tapatalk Cheers, Joe

rob16584 42
Yes, I was surfing the forums on my iPhone and the mobile site was very good, but that's just my opinion. Tapatalk was ok, but I only had the free version so couldn't reply to any topics etc...

Take a look at this one. All I can see of the first post in the tread is the date it was posted and my signature, nothing more. As for Tapatalk, don't worry.. I agree with Rob, the browser on the Iphone does a better job at displaying the forum anyway.. just janking your chain a bit.. :th_smiles73: Regards Micke
mutley 4,498
That's fine Micke yank away!! I have restored that post you linked, I could not see your original text so I restored it from a back up of the old forum I have. Of course I could re-visit every post on the new forum to check but life is too short!! Cheers, Joe
stu7708 244
That's fine Micke yank away!! I have restored that post you linked, I could not see your original text so I restored it from a back up of the old forum I have. Of course I could re-visit every post on the new forum to check but life is too short!! Cheers, Joe I'm missing a smiley here.. I feel we need one that's yanking mutleys chain... And speaking of the smilies, the right column of smilies in the editor are so far of to the right on my screen that I only see half of some of them... working in 1680*1050 resolution. Looks like the scrollbar covers them... But back to the topic at hand.. it must be some sort of problem with the conversion from the old forum.. and prehaps also related to the length of the post, because the second, shorter, part of that ATWC leg worked without me going in to the editor and saving it.... But atleast there's an easy solution to it if someone finds a post of their own that's blank and you want it restored, just click the edit button, and save... so no need for you to do this by hand. But looking at the new forum, I feel it's a big step up from the last one.. good job
mutley 4,498
Yes the smiley window is not very good, I haven't found settings for this but I will put it on my to-do list! Cheers Joe

mike H 456
Hi Joe, Just been looking at the new forums and noticed that it is now taking alot longer for me to open any of the topics, upto 12 to 15secs. everytime I want to open the next page I have to wait another 12 to 15secs. Where as before on your last site it only took me about 3 to 4secs. Is anyone else having the same problem ?
mutley 4,498
Hi Joe, Just been looking at the new forums and noticed that it is now taking alot longer for me to open any of the topics, upto 12 to 15secs. everytime I want to open the next page I have to wait another 12 to 15secs. Where as before on your last site it only took me about 3 to 4secs. Is anyone else having the same problem ? Are you using Internet Explorer? It may just be server load as specific times of the day, our server is is Canada so it's peak times should be about 5 hours behind what it is in the UK Joe
stu7708 244
I too have been experiencing longer loading (or prehaps rendering) times after the update in IE. But using Google Chorme everything runs much faster. One reason for this could be that it feels like every section page contains more threads than in the old forum.. or is that just my bad memory at work.
mike H 456
Thanks Joe for the info.
