Right, here are my three this month

The BAe 146-100, going into LCY on a nice evening - the UK's last airliner

Next, the mighty Nimrod. Seen here climbing out of Southampton leaving an 'eco-friendly' trail behind - yeah right! More like a lot of noise and smell!

And finally, the BAC 1-11, one of the UK's most sucessful jet airliner seen here rotating at Heathrow

Hi Mike! Sorry for being so late, but thanks a lot!

Those are definately VC10s John. And the Apache is from your homeland, We only build them under licence, they are definately NOT British, sorry buddy ^_^

Woah! Thanks for catching that one! My mistake *Self facepalm*

As for the Apache, ah well, it was worth a try

Auster Autocrat:

Lovely pic there buddy, just one problem though,Austers were in fact American designs from the 1930s adapted and built under licence, originally they were Taylorcraft Auster. They didn't originate here. Sorry to spoil the fun mate. :sorry:

Agreed Alan, and here's some reasoning behind it - according to Wikipedia, Taylorcaft Auster actually began as Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Ltd. in 1938 based at the Britannia Works in Thurmaston and were the UK branch of Taylorcraft Aircraft Corp. based out of Texas As you correctly say Alan, all Austers were built under licence here in the UK and, as such, unfortunately can't be thought of as 'British' aircraft - shame, because i love them!

On a brighter note, i've used Jans image as my new desktop wall paper!
