Here are my entries. Had a hard time choosing three from five or six good ones.

Hi All.

First time for a screen shot contest for me here, thought that I would try my luck as I have just bought REX and everything looks "DRAMATIC" to me now ;).

OK, I just took my first shot out! I was keen to try out my new Do-27 repaint, and thought that the Swissair Dornier in the Alps look good so I decided to use it instead.

I'm English bred, but now live in Canada so my second offering was made over the Great Lakes.

Just added a third shot, this one came out of a flight I just did from Bodmin to the Channel Islands.

(no editing done, these shots came straight out of FSX)

#1: Looking for a way over the Alps

#2: A Summers eve, Canadian style.

#3: Morning time over the English Channel

Yes, REX does has that effect! I have REX to thank for my screenies too. They're also unedited apart from the last (757), with only a very slight contrast enhancement.

You just wait till you try some of the other dawn & dusk variations. :icon_thumbup: Oh. and don't forget to put up a third shot before the end of the month :001_th_smiles89:

Thanks for the comments, will add another screen shot soon, once I have one that is good enough! That is ;) .

Think that REX is really good, although I am not sure that my copy is installed correctly ATM.

I did do exactly as the instructions said, but it seems a bit sluggish, when I want to change options, almost like I have a graphics problem  ?

Yes, don't worry, that's normal behaviour! It does take a long time to install the themes, especially if you let it change everything, and it's also normal if your screen flashes black during the process. It is quite a sluggish program and not as user-friendly as it could be.

I tend to let it only change the dawn/day/dusk sky colours on a regular basis. I only change the cloud types once in a blue moon as it takes too long! I didn't download Overdrive yet. It's a massive download and not sure I need all the extra options - there are too many as it is! :o:D

Hi and thanks again.

With regards to REX being sluggish, I'll stop worrying about it, and leave it aloan now then ;)

The overdrive is a huge download (3.6 GB) and once instaled it looks like it gives you double the amount of options in each of the Categories, so more than I will ever need, I would think.

If you have a fast internet conection, I don't think there is any harm in downloading it as I think its nice to have the whole shooting match of something once in a while :), and the big bonus is that it's free :icon_rockon:

Choosing three shots for this competition was tough - I had 16 good ones!

Well, here it goes. The shots are best viewed at a high resolution, so that is how I posted them (although I did resize them from their original resolutions, in order to comply with the contest rules regarding picture size). The forum has the automatic resize function, so I hope that's okay. No editing was done.

1. At the edge of space.

2. A stunning atmosphere with Mount Rainer in the background.

3. Swiss International climbing above the clouds in an ominous sunset.

Good luck to all, some great shots so far! smile.gif

I really don't think a shot can be more dramatic than Dodgy-Alan's "Eject Eject! Mirage 2000 in trouble over the Alps"

Superb shot Alan, you must now be our most prolific winner! :icon_thumbup:

You must know the routine by now! Please PM me with your prize choice :icon_rockon:

Cheers,

Joe

Thanks Guys, I,ll have a look in JFs toybox Mut and PM you with my choice.

Dan, The Mirage 2000 is a freeware package that I picked up some time ago, I,ll try and find the original download title and let you know what it was. This is of course in FS2004 but I believe there is an FSX version as well.

the aircraft I found on flightsim.com, there are a couple on there now but this is the one I used. you may need to go into the site first to use the link as it doesn't seem to work directly from here.

:001_th_smiles76: That is one fantastic action shot. Well Done Alan. A Worthy Winner. Congrats. :icon_thumbup:

PS Well Alan it's 3 Screen Shot wins a piece now.

So I will have to put my thinking cap on.

After your latest Mirage 2000 shot I can see it's going to be tough going from here on. :winka::winka:

Well done, Alan! A great shot and a worthy winner.

It's certainly a more dramatic moment than most of us will experience in our MS FS 'careers'! Most of us have to make do with 'dramatic' sunsets for our excitement, as you can see from many of the other entries! :D
