J G 927
So who is going to name it?......
dodgy-alan 1,587
ATC got very upset when my instructor and I stood up and saluted the control tower as we past! I think the red flare announced their displeasure! ...........as did the bollocking later!
brett 2,315
I thought it was some kind of experimental ultralight at first because of the cable. Now I see what it was but not why it was there. I gather you were a Cadet Alan, or just going for a ride. I never would have found it without Chuck's answer, although I couldn't find that particular nickname.

I was invited along one weekend. Great fun!
dodgy-alan 1,587
Is someone going to kill this canary then? I think we all know it!
Screwbottle 0
Hello Folks New member here, thought I could join in if I may. Pic below of cockpit view of this old girl, a favourite as I was involved with this aircraft in the 70's and 80's during my time with Sea Rescue. My first clues given in the previous sentence. I'll catch up on Monday morning as I'm away for the weekend. Regards Edit, well this did not work, that is attaching a small 800x600 50Kb picture. I'll need some help on this forum on how to attach a pic. Sorry, I'll try again some time later. Cheers
brett 2,315
Andrew, I don't see a picture in your post yet but if you know which aircraft it is, feel free to state it's full name. Upon confirmation of the correct answer from the original poster, you can then post a new image for the members to guess at.

J G 927
Lysander
Quickmarch 488
That's what I thought, John. However, maybe the wing shown in the photo is a red herring - it's all wrong for the Lysander, but the wheel pants look the part.
brett 2,315
Lysander is a great guess, something close to that would be the Henschel Hs 126 maybe, it's a two-seater and has an odd shaped wing like the Lysander.
dodgy-alan 1,587
You've given 2 names Brett, one of which is correct. What would you like to choose?
dodgy-alan 1,587
The wing is the biggest clue
