OK.  Alan's aircraft (with my cryptic clues in the parentheses) was the Dassault (assault) Mystere (French for mystery), IVN (a double advance on IIIM and the Toronto Stock Exchange code for Ivanhoe Mines).

 

I will soon post the next challenge.

Didn't have to fish too hard for something to convey the awnser! Interesting aircraft though, mind you, if it had made as much smoke as their other products the enemy would have seen it f**king miles away!

If you are still fishing for an aircraft in this contest, then look to Alan as he is king. He will no doubt convair the answer to you, as it is not as new as it looks!

OK, so I think everybody is on the game now with the Convair 'Kingfish', as correctly identified by Alan.  Designed as a replacement to the Lockheed U-2, it ultimately lost out to Lockheed's A-12 design.
