PanzerFodder 0
Great news. Hope you enjoy your new home Jim. Thats some big bucks for a couple of loads, I'm still shlepp'in around loads for 20,000. a piece. joked it off by saying 'have you seen the ass on that big girl' Maybe we should give the girl a little respect, Wow! and I thought Mrs SAD was the only one who could take a full load of cargo in the rear end! Nice plane and paint job Jim , can it really only carry 50.000LB of cargo? or did you miss a zero off the end??? Cheer's...Graham...
brett 2,310
That is one nice looking paint job UK, very nice. A 5nm flight I quess you didn't even need to bring up the flaps. Is this how you plan to save on fuel costs?
UKJim 502
I'm sure its 50k with full fuel but if I fly it the less fuel and carry A LOT more! I only bought it bcuz I enjoy flying it, prob not the best plane for AH but I use it for the flying Cheers guys
UKJim 502
Just to add - I am planning on painting the front half of the engines the same colour as the charcoal wings/lines; I think that should finish it off quite nicely. Thanks
mutley 4,495
Looking forward to seeing the finished aircraft, does that mean you will have to change your sig?
UKJim 502
Looking forward to seeing the finished aircraft, does that mean you will have to change your sig? DOH! I didn't think this through; but if I do it will be pretty much the same but with the engines painted. I will keep the logo and the size the same hopefully shouldnt be too hard
UKJim 502
Huge Loss! Today was the day the paint job was finished and the CEO loaded Cody with his first set of contracts in the freshly painted bird. Excitement was in the air! After several successful trips Cody started to push the C-17 a little too much - carrying bloods on board he assumed the plane could manage a speedy delivery but he was wrong. The plane had a rough landing and the bloods were split Damage to the plane costing £6 million plus and the failed job caused a loss in the local reputation. So from a total of 21 million in the bank - it has now dropped to 15,5 million! I am considering buying back the old DC6 just for Cody and the C-17 is only operated by the expert (me) - this would generate jobs with runways of only 1500 feet and therefore the C-17 could get starved of jobs. Decisions need to be made as with a lease charge of 6 million every month for the C-17 we need to make it worth it. I REFUSE TO SELL!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading - Now Cody; WHERE'S MY BELT YOU LITTLE SH**!!!!
brett 2,310
If you want it done right........ No beating the worker bees. Give him a week in the C172.
UKJim 502
If you want it done right........ No beating the worker bees. Give him a week in the C172. Not even gud enough for that! He gets a month in a cub!!!

UKJim 502
Short update (off the phone) I've leased 2 DC6's back into JAD and hired another helping hand I am keeping the big girl for myself
UKJim 502
Oh and just in case people are interested - the C-17 can hold 50k worth cargo full fuel but when I fly I take 200nm worth of fuel and it can hold approx 260k with of cargo!
PanzerFodder 0
I'm still shocked by how little the C-17 can carry You did remember to take the Tanks/APC's out of the back before loading didn't you?. When the PFC has grown to the size of JAD, we're going to get one of these . Aircraft: Airbus A340-600 Publisher/Developer: THOMAS RUTH (freeware) Sim Version: FSX AH Purchase Cost: $195,754,800.00 Lease Deposit: $24,469,356.00 Monthly Lease Payment: $10,875,269.00 MTOW: 829000 lbs. Empty Weight: 390201 lbs. Max Fuel: 45868 USG Cargo Capacity: 131483.4 lbs. And its got a range of about 7000 nm with that lot onboard LOL Cheer's...Graham..
UKJim 502
But the cost look at it Still nice choice, you be flying all night long with that hehe
UKJim 502
Monthly overhead - £10 million Risky business until the C-17 has been paid off The company is doing well and I am hoping to complete some jobs myself tonight too. The two hired pilots are doing fine but with landings they are heavy and regular repairs are needed. All well in JAD at the moment!
brett 2,310
I could probably buy my whole airport for your monthly overhead. Without risk there will be no reward, way to go Jim!
UKJim 502
Very true - I performed many contracts tonight no glitches there, no damage all 'plane' sailing Even got promoted to test pilot JAD has almost 22 million in the bank at the moment - to buy the C-17 its goin to cost about 105 million so could take a while. Suppose its would become boring if you didn't take risks

UKJim 502
Latest Update So the two hired help working great in their own DC6's - I have been completing lots of contracts tonight and all went well apart from one trip. I was a little high on the approach so I dipped the nose slightly; a little too much it turned out. I landed too hard and damage was taken to both cargo and plane. I wanted to keep the insurance premiums down so paid cash over £1 million in repairs. This was the worth of the entire trip But good news was I continued and earned a lot more money Current cash in the bank £25 million on the way up to the £104 million mark to buy out my C-17 Thanks for reading Jim
Menno 0
Sorry to hear about the damage to your airplane, but these things happen from time to time. Seems you bounced back rather quickly with a nice profit Thankfully I am only on a Cessna 172 right now. Much less to damage on one of those Respectfully, Menno

Carenado do a brilliant model of one of them
brett 2,310
Ouch, that had to sting a little, good recovery. It doesn't really say in the manual about how many times you can use your insurance before they cancel so It's a good idea to pay cash when your able. Would hate to lose the insurance right before a major expense.
Menno 0
Yeah I remember those days - so wen are you upgrading to a cessna 182rg? Carenado do a brilliant model of one of them Still considering multiple options for a new airplane. I think I narrowed it down to a 206 or a 182. It's a matter of speed versus cargo capacity. Hope to make a decision soon Respectfully, Menno

UKJim 502
Another Night Flying So lets start with the AI ... Sophie has been great since signing the contract to join JAD - completing many contracts she can handle the DC6 just fine. I will not be hesitating to load her up with even more work and possibly run a few night shifts too. Cody is faultless - same as usual really lots of work all completed on time Of course those DC6's do throw in some sharp suprises once in a while and some heavy landings means repairs - I normally pay cash but have had a few occasions to claim the insurance. These planes are leased and will only be leased so I am not concerned about claiming. Now on to my flying... Not good I'm afraid; after a hard day at work I got a bit tired today and while flying made one silly mistake. After thinking about it I should have gone round and tried again but being impatient I landed heavy and caused 10% worth of damage to the C-17. This in turn had a cost of repair in cash of £2 million. This was the total of all the jobs I had flown previous to the crash; so to save a bit of money and flying time being wasted I claimed on the insurance for approx £150k. I really want to pay off this C-17 so my monthly overheads will come down; sure it will take time but at this rate I am happy with a good couple of months worth of flying to complete my objective. Current Cash: £29,351,680.00 Current Rep: 100.00%
