hurricanemk1c 195
Hi all! Following a recent forum question on the aircraft of Iron Maiden's 'Somewhere Back In Time 2008-2009', I've decided to re-create the aircraft tour. I'll be following the 2008 tour, using the Captain Sim 757-200, with a repaint of 'Ed Force One'. Although the actual paint is for the 2009 aircraft, it is more-or-less the same, just different places and the year. Here's the overall route, complete with fuel stops And yes Tim - I know it's V2! And so, on a cold January morning in 2008, the band arrive to see 'Ed Force One' for the first time. Well, except Bruce ****inson. He was the brain behind the project, and suggested it to his superiors at Astraeus Airlines. It was approved. And so, at 7.30am, he was in the cockpit preparing the aircraft. Hehehe! Waiting for the IRS to align The IRS has aligned Programming the FMC - took 9 pages! Love the callsign! Engine start Pushback has been completed and the taxi begins Pulling up behind a BA 737 Unmistakeable! I've got more fuel and weight on board, so I'm going right to the end of the runway The ATC says it all! Turning onto the runway And take-off! 'Thank you, Essex Departure on 120.625, Flystar 666' A fellow Astraeus aircraft (737) does a go-around by the sounds of it Last look at the UK for 46 days Passing into Germany Fancy a bit of reading? Wingview of an aircraft passing below The new Berlin Brandenburg And the now-closed Templehof At this point, I decided to fast forward a bit The sun begins to set whilst still a fair way from Baku It fills the cockpit The sun has now set Going down Cockpit view during the stages of landing Gear down Runway in sight Touchdown Stopped! Time for fuel - next stop Mumbai Stats so far - distance travelled, 2,132.8nm, distance to go, 31,906.4nm - still a long way to go! Kieran
allardjd 1,853
If you only had some really high-quality airport diagrams you wouldn't have to use those ugly purple "Ladies Aid" lines on the taxiways. Apologies to Jess - I'm sure she never uses the FS progressive taxi option. John EDIT: You did a nice job though - looks good. JDA
ddavid 149
Did you buy any beer - or just fuel?!? Nice trip - looking forward to the gig at Mumbai... Cheers - Dai.

mutley 4,498
Great start Chuck, I really enjoyed it. From the departure shot you must have been very heavy!

hurricanemk1c 195
Thanks all! John - I wonder why you needed the route from me................ Dai - Nope, only fuel, unless Nicko got some more vintage wine..... Brett - the last few rows were converted to a 'cargo' part. It was the first conversion to come under the EASA (European Air Safety Authority) and confirmation that it could fly with full passenger and cargo was given at 2am that morning! Joe - yep, very heavy. I was about 200lb under the MTOW! Colin - that's great! I'll try and get to Mumbai today!

Thanks for the reply. I thought maybe they tricked it out some instead of leaving in the standard seating. Must be exausting doing a world tour like that.
