Hello fellow hangar rats,

Being placed conveniently on the other side of the world from most of you, I thought it appropriate to tell you that the Mayans got it wrong. The sun came up on schedule, here in Chaing Mai. It should be around 0600L (and Zulu) in England as I write this, so you guys and gals dodged the bullet, too.

It's a convenient time of year to be here as Santa Clause gets here first.

Cheers,

March

Thanks for the on-the-scene report, March. Another service of MH, having a correspondent on the spot when the world is supposed to come to an end. It seems rumors of our imminent mass-demise are somewhat exaggerated. If that hidden rogue planet is going to come lurching out from behind Saturn or the Sun or whereever to ruin our day it's going to have to hurry.

Not sure why anyone puts any faith in a calendar fashioned by an extinct stone-age culture, but apparently many do. There's no end of stories on the Internet of people doing and saying silly things because we're faced with the last "page" of the Mayan calendar.

Sort of shades of the Y2K fiasco. Lots of shysters making money off people who aren't equipped with the necessary knowledge. Not their fault for falling for it, just a shame there are people out there who will take advantage.

I wasn't the least worried. My 1979 VW Westfalia wasn't going to stop in the middle of the street ( not for the reasons given, anyway).

Ah well, maybe the Mayans just ran out of paper, or their equivalent material. Probably sandstone.

Have a nice day,

March

No, No, No, No! We are all educated people around here and so we know that the only time zone of importance is Mayan Time! Only when our correspondent in Mexico let's me know - after midnight - that everything is fine will I believe it.

The #@!pid git that made all this up in the '70's (the end of the world, not the Mayan time cycle) can't be wrong!

James, if you could just let me have your bank details and pin numbers, along with your passwords, I will gladly send the dosh.

Failing that, I'll see you on the other side. :)

Actually they are not so wrong. Out of my window now the darkness is descending and the temperature plummeting. Or could just that be the night drawing in?

Nah Rob, that's just Yorkshire mate. :P

Hi Guys (and Ladies, of course)

Whilst browsing the interweb I came across this site - www.flightsimbooks.com/

Now I know most of the books maybe old and/or for other operating systems but browsing through them maybe Flight Simmers may find something useful and or ideas for flight missions etc?

P.s Thanks Mutley

Pps. The mayans just got bored of chiselling calenders out of stone so they went back to their flight sims!
