Misha Cajic 4
Hello all. These are 2 airstrips I have been working on recently, they are located in Southern Oregon , and sit within Orbx's PNW regionpack. I will be doing one more airport in the area before I release the package as a low cost payware. All objects are modelled from scratch with full autogen annotation and 4 seasons PR covering an area around the airstrips. So far I have had no impact on performance.I will certainly give you guys a review copy once i'm done Flournoy ValleyRiverview
britfrog 180
hey thats really good ! really atmospheric, equally as good as orbyx imho without all the B.S. such as robot flow etc, let us know when you are ready to release it well done!!
mutley 4,487
Hi Misha, Thanks for sharing, the scenery has a very rustic feel about it, the vegetation is superb, definitely payware quality. Hopefully it is not too resource hungry? although with your experience of scenery design I expect it wont be. . When you're ready just drop me a PM and I will get a reviewer on it. Cheers, Joe. Misha Cajic 4
Thank you guys! Joe I have been very efficient with the textures, so the drawcalls are minimum, altogether all the buildings use 4 texture sheets, the vegetation 2 texture sheets, and other clutter and objects another few texture sheets. As for polygons I have got a tester with a 2.26 ghz computer so with different settings we will see how it runs on his If it does not run well I will adjust the scenery accordingly. britfrog 180
i had a texture sheet once ! my wife hated it
mutley 4,487
Thanks Misha, I know it's difficult to please everyone and those simmers who have high spec machines would want to see every level of detail without loosing performance. I guess those that already have Orbx scenery are used to tweaking the density and complexity settings so would know what to expect here.
Misha Cajic 4
I run everything maxed no problems, actually even on the old computer I could run it near max (i3 3.06ghz) without any problems. I'll let you guys be the judge of it when the time comes.
brett 2,284
Very nice. Just the kind of places I like to fly into. Color me interested and am looking forward to the release
needles 1,010
Very nice indeed Misha. Beautifully detailed and atmospheric. I like these little airstrips in the PNW interior. Misha Cajic 4
Thank you very much guys, I have also made a great start on the 3rd airstrip, 98TE Hilltop, it has got a beautiful river
brett 2,284
Yes it does, if only it would look that good on my system.
Misha Cajic 4
Hmm looking at your specs you shouldn't have any problems running this scenery at pretty high settings! 3.3 ghz is quite good for fsx.
brett 2,284
Thanks. Only a 15.6" laptop but it's definitely better than the old dual core I was running. Any idea when the scenery will be ready for flying? Not rushing you or anything.
Misha Cajic 4
Still need to finish the scenery and make it go through testing so who knows, hopefully soon and I am working as fast as I can!
brett 2,284
Well, if you need a beta tester.......... Take your time and do it right is the best way to make it a delight.

Misha Cajic 4
Modelling done for the airport, this shot is WIP though, still got more stuff to add to the airport and a couple more elevation adjustments.
needles 1,010
Your detailing is quite superb Misha. Well done. Hurry up! Only joking. Can't wait to see the finished product. Cheers

Misha Cajic 4
Hi all, development is very far in now and I can show some extensive shots of the overall area Just to show that I am not joking about performance, this shot here is taken facing the airstrip as well as all the details within it, as well as the river, houses and all the trees that have been annotated. All autogen and scenery settings are at max (except water which is mid 2x) and I am running overcast weather with weather sliders on max, LOD is set to 8.5 in cfg (which makes fsx work nearly 2x faster than normal) and AA is set at 8x in nvidia inspector. Notice the fps in the top left hand corner
brett 2,284
Great view of the landing strip and it's surrounding area in that last shot.
