  3. I think what would be good is for someone to produce a guide to migrating add-ons from FSX to P3D together with some kind of advice sheet of things to look out for when deciding to attempt a migration. I don't know if this has been done already, or who would do it if it wasn't.

  5. the reason i asked is very simple P3D is FSX actual code that’s been further developed the controls you know from FSX and setting are exactly the same in a more convenient interface etc most scenery doesn’t work, because its installing/looking for default fsx directories; not because there's a real problem just about everything i moved from fsx to P3D is working flawlessly; exactly the same thing when they started; i think even today many of the files in world\scenery and many other directories are the same fsx uses at one point i experimented with swapping the files between FSX

There are a couple ways to alter the .cfg file: Until you are comfortable altering the .cfg, I'd advise always making a backup of the original before modifying an copy...I rename the original file aircraft_orig.cfg and keep it in the same folder as aircraft.cfg. However, hiding original values behind double slash marks will preserve original values in the aircraft.cfg copy that you are currently using/modifying...for reference, also you can save changes and notations that way for reference.
