Comparison of Gen-X, VFR Real Scenery and, er, real scenery.
mutley replied to ddavid's topic in Screenshots
I saw that blog Dai, I thought it was very good. I still think that Horizon rushed their scenery to get it published for business reasons, which is understandable given the investment in the data and being up against one of the biggest FS publishers out there. The trouble is "Joe Public" is still paying the price with sub-standard software that does not do what it says on the box, it's over a year now and really no better than it was then. With all that said I am keen to see what improvements they will make. Cheers -
Splendid, just splendid! The night shots are every bit as good as the day, I love the halo effect around the buildings the second one is may favourite. The Continental livery on the Emb 120 is so smart, nasty case of wind you had there Steve! Thanks for posting. Cheers

Leg 67: Puerto Natales SCNT -->> Ushahia SAWH
mutley replied to mutley's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Early Morning. Last night I swapped a few stories with Martyn over an expresso in the Cafe, he passed the baton over but couldn't stay so there was not going to be any Night Fever for me! Once the DC10-30 was fuelled he said he had a FP straight to EGHH. I wondered why? But then I remembered he had a date with his fiancée as she was More Than A Woman erhem girfriend to him :wub So with Martyn gone I got an early night, my transport was on the way. My mate JT had some business in town for a couple of days and said I could borrow his "baby", anything to stop my Jive talkin! Have -

Thanks Dai, I am looking at this now and your map, good work -
It has been foggy here too John in the mornings so I can vouch for the weather. I hope the flight was profitable Cheers

Hmm. let me guess. Somewhere in China? Too tired now, mutley needs sleep so will have a look tomorrow. Cheers

Any more suggestions guys? We will be deciding pretty soon Cheers -
NoTAM Just touched down in Ushahia Intl, Argentina, a very short flight being only 243 Nm, the shortest in this section. I have cut down the shots from 152 to just 60! and I am uploading them now but could take all night. Once I have filled out my PIREP and found the Baton (I'm sure it is in the cabin somewhere) I will post the shots tomorrow. Thanks to Martyn for connecting up with me at Puerto Natales under difficult circumstances. Cheers

I go along with the sceenshotart recommendation although you may find a lot of their tutorials are old and the links are broken. reef is a very good talent spotter and has made some good points. I have PSP and PS but may have a look at Gimpshop out of curiosity thanks Simi

From JF - We're pleased to be able to host this excellent freeware scenery, created by John Young, which is available to download here (14.2Mb). John's rendition of Coningsby is a massive improvement over the default offering in both FS2004 and FSX and we're sure you'll enjoy flying in and taking a good look round it as much as we did. The scenery is fully compatible with VFR Real Scenery Vol.1 (South East England). Please drop John a quick word of thanks if you enjoy the scenery. As is always the case with freeware, we flight sim enthusiasts get a great deal of wonderful FS extras for

Aha! Well done Dai! It is indeed FACT Cape Town. almost certainly in the next section. Over to you. Cheers

I would love to help out Simi, if I could  I had Vista but uninstalled it, looking at the DX10 additions in FSX SP2 it's looking to fall well short of what Aces were originally "promising". So my next card when ever that comes will be a DX 10 but who knows when that will be. That's quite worrying what Rich had found with the 8600GTS as with 512Mb and faster processor you would expect more  Perhaps it's starved of power Rich causing it to run at lower speed? Cheers

Hi Chris, I take it this is an edited screenshot contest! The lens flare looks good and I like the reflection on the runway, well done. My only criticism is that I wouldn't try to land with my afterburners on! Cheers
-
Well done Dai, I may just pop over and have a look! Cheers

Leg 66: Puerto Montt, Chile to Puerto Natales, Chile
mutley replied to Martyn's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Another two-parter! Lovely shots Martyn, a great combination, it would have taken you days to comment these up and you would have had to put off seeing Natalie! These pictures speak a thousand words, excellent. The SF-260 was the first true FSX aircraft I purchased having loved it for FS2004, the VC and the gauges are sooo clear. The DC10-30 is a classic aircraft nice to see it again Well, I'll meet you in the bar to pick up the baton. Thanks for getting it safely to Puerto Natales, I'm waiting for my aircraft to arrive to arrive now, an old friend of mine JT has let me loan his -
Top speed I've seen it go is 800mph John, must have had battery back-up problems  I also came across the mothership ready to nuke KEDW : Don't worry John, I stopped them flattening CA (Or should I have let them!) Cheers
-
I get headaches and dizziness most mornings, do you think I could get an injury lawyer to sue our local pub? Cheers
-
Same here Martyn, tick the boxes then generate the code in one go. Usually I then dump it into Excel and sort the file names as they never appear to copy in the order you want them unless you stick to a strict naming convention. Is there an easier/faster way :?: Cheers

UFO chasing out of Kennedy AFB (KEDW) Part of a FSX X Pack mission, F-18 in NASA livery.

Hi John, It's been there for about a week and is a good addition however I still use FireFTP (Plug-in for Firefox) and drag and drop my pictures into Photobucket! Cheers

Hey Martyn, Thanks for the update, that is a scary thing to witness let alone be part of. Your dad has definitely got his head screwed on right reacting the way he did he must have a sixth sense :star :star :star :star :star :star Cheers
