Leg 47: St. Maarten TNCM to Guadeloupe TFFR
mutley replied to mutley's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
:mrhappy: to leg 47. This is probably one of my ambitious posts to date  I video'd the flight and took screenshots as we flew. Dave was no help as ever as he spent most of the flight sleeping off last nights excesses, much to Sharon's annoyance! You may look at some of the shots and think "No way!" Well artistic licence comes into play! Most of these shots you will recognise in the video. One word about the video, I was running FSX at pretty much top settings. FRAPS I found is a FPS killer under these conditions so you'll notice that too. The video link is at the end of the post -
Nice effect Theo, The aspect looks spot on for the widescreen format. (My only gripe would be that it exceeds our max width limit of 1024 pixels. :mrhappy: ) Cheers

Glad we could help Martin, this seems to have cheered you up so it was worth it :mrhappy: What is the ideal temperature? I have no gripes about my temperatures so I don't really worry about it. I cannot hear my graphics card fan at all. The noisiest is the cpu fan I think, still it pays to be a bit "mut & jeff" like me, I often have the headphones onso don't notice it anyway. Have a great weekend Mart. Cheers

I live that first shot too, she looks so heavy!! Cheers

OK I downloaded the program. I took a couple of screens as I don't really know what you are looking for Idle FSX running over water panning around the aircraft (Maule) Cooler than Martyn's but he has a more powerful card in a laptop. Cheers

Hi Mart, leave it with me just downloading now and will let you know as soon as :mrhappy: Cheers

I reckon that will do fine Theo, FSX is so much better with SP1, there's SP2 along within 3 to 6 weeks (probably) introducing the DX10 upgrade and possibly other tweaks to DX9 and bug fixes. Also they are releasing the FSX Acceleration to Beta soon (For DX9) look here for official expansion pack trailer http://dev.fsinsider.com/news/Pages/Acc ... ailer.aspx So yes, get it but wait a few weeks :mrhappy: Cheers

Thanks Dave & Simi, At the moment I am still kinda happy with the devil we know. The forum host does sometimes appear not to be monitoring the the performance of the servers and when I look to see what the problem is there have already been unanswered questions from other forum admin who also use this service. I would not consider moving the forum without the database, the previous MH forum had nearly 4000 posts but I could couldn't import into this one. I back this databas up very often and according to phpBB should be able to migrate it. So I am going to sit on my hands for a littl
