Well done Mut - terrific work 'Big Dave' :mrhappy: But how is our hero - is he O.K. after his ordeal? Give him my best wishes for a quick recovery :!: Cheers - David -
Pillars of Hercules - must be the Med - recent conflict, too? Oh, yes, where's the airfield directory, eh? And I thought Google Earth was cheating a little :!: :!: - anway, onwards and upwards (of course). :mrhappy: Cheers - David.[/i]

Hey Joe (sorry, I'm an old JH fan  ) - if you're that close to Aerosoft, could you possibly persuade them to do the Lakla scenery for FSX? When I asked in January, they said they had no plans - schade! - but maybe they've thought again....? Cheers - David.

Thanks for the tips, John. I'll get on to it as soon as I can - when I've finished decorating....... Cheers - David. P.S. The trees look a bit Mediterranean - I'll try Italy first.

Hi Mut - thanks a lot, your edit to panel.cfg worked a treat: and thanks for the Alcatraz pointer :!: Still a minor problem, though - half the guages are missing from the cockpit, so I'll have to do more homework. The SA Bulldog is a dream to fly in FSX. Here's the camauflaged ex-Zambian Air Force aircraft now at Haverfordwest: It was a magic flight, and, yes, I'd love to learn...... Cheers - David.

Hi lads (?) - if no-one else wants to do Raratonga to Honolul, I'll tentatively ask if you'd like me to take the baton the Short route - with the Empress. Both Raratonga and Honolulu International(s) are very close to the shoreline. But if there's another bid, I'm happy to stand easy. Cheers - David. -
Many thanks, Mut - I'll give it a go and let you know. Cheers - David.

Hey Lads (and lassies?), any chance of some advice, please? A month or so ago I saw an FS2004 Short Sunderland on AVSIM. As you know, I've a soft spot for flying boats, and had downloaded an FSX Short Empress previously. Sooo - I just downloaded the Sunderland.zip and used Addit! to install - and, to cut a very long story Short, it worked. O.K., so yesterday I was trawling Flightsim's archive and I found an FS2004 Scottish Aviation Bulldog (as used by the RAF for trainig until recently). I downloaded it, but this time, I followed the 'Readme.txt' instructions - and came up with this: Y

On holiday again, Mut :?: :?: Lucky b*gger - lovely sea and spectacular night lighting - thanks. In the same way you're a F1 fan, I'm a Tour de France follower - I've got the route and stage finishes etc for 2007, starting in July. Is there any half decent VFR type scenery for France (in FSX) that you know of? It'd be great to 'fly' the stage before watching the action. Thanks again for the pics - wish my sea was as shimmery.... :mrhappy: Cheers - David.
-
Thanks, Mut - I really didn't want to get as close as you did - I hope they treated you O.K. inside...... I'll download the scenery and update my 'flypast' - by the way, the Tomcat is a phenominal beast - really something around Snowdonia :mrhappy: Cheers -David.

Hi John - well done! You're absolutely right, Wikepedia says - The next clue was little more illuminating, but here it is anyway: Over to you, mate..... Cheers - David.

Mind you, Mut, there were some interesting ad's! Has any one seen any of these ladies on their travels, recently? http://www.seeitfirst.co.uk/boundandgagged/pamann.html I particularly like the short haired one with the direct line of conversation. Dosvidanya tovaritsch! Chtob vse byli zdorovy - Davidski..... :mrhappy:

Hi Gareth - last time I was up in a Tri-Star was in '79 on my way to JFK - great steaks and excellent service. Thanks for the reminder - and welcome to Mut's hanger! :mrhappy: Cheers - David.

Simply amazing, Mut - where do you get the energy, eh. And, O.K., what ARE the burning wig-wams :?: :?: Or are they volcanoes..... Cheers - David. p.s. I could do a Short hop with the Empress, if you like.... -
Yeah - how about the Lukla leg ...... Magic, as usual - well done, Mut  Cheers - David.

Hi Mut - good try - wrong continent but right ocean-ish. Here's another sreen shot: I bet that gives it away - especially if Fred's on the case  More clues if you need them........... Cheers - David.
-
No mate, it's not Anglesey - right aspect, but wrong ocean :!: The shot was taken after downloading the Tomcat from AVSIM (by Ivan Kostic and Steve Hinson) and trying it out in ......... The scenery loading, after pressing Fly Now! went too quickly, and when the simulation started the trees, and other airport fixtures, were suspended in mid air. I left the Tomcat 'purring' on the runway and watched as the scenery developed in front of my eyes - it was fantastic, as the land 'rose up' to accommodate the 'flying' shrubbery :!: Another clue: Jim Hardie's company was founded here - Jim Who? :
-
Hey, Fred, I must be getting good, my 747 landings are just as bumpy! Thanks for the youtube pointers - cheers David.
-
O.K. lads (and lassies?) - here's the next airport, sorry about the delay.... Now you may notice that there's a fault with this shot. Basically, I'm in FSX with default scenery and the sliders around the middle. Oh, yes, Mut, I'd like to ask some pretty basic questions about scenery, AI aircraft and so on. Most of the other forums are a bit 'technical' to put this level of query to - any chance of a thread for idiots like me? Anyway, more 'clues' if you need them (no, not you Fred!!) :mrhappy: Weather brilliant, as usual here in sunny Pembrokeshire Take care all - cheers - David. P

Hi Mut, no, just a 'crossword puzzle' brian (oops, brain!) It's Luis Munoz Marin International, Puerto Rico (TJSJ) as in: Give me until tomorrow to get a new guess loaded. Cheers - David.
-
Hey, Mut - deep clues, man :!: Do you mean like: transforms to: :?: :?: And is the airport named after the country's first governer, Jose? Cheers - David - and thanks for the comp.
-
No, Mut, THANK YOU for the friendliest f-sim forum on the web. :mrhappy: Cheers - David.
