Thanks for that, John - I've spent several years trying to understand my 'number one' (don't ask, but it rhymes with something between dirty and nifty), and I haven't come close yet.......... But, like my ol' Land-Rover, I wouldn't go for a newer model :!: Cheers - Dai.

Thanks, lads, glad you enjoyed the 'show' - now, how about guessing the bl**dy airport....... :!: :!: Cheers - Dai.

Eurofighter Typhoon Private Airshow This afternoon, just after luncheon here, down on the farm, Pam and I were enjoying a quiet cuppa, when we heard a plane approach. Not your usual GA from Haverfordwest Intnl, nor even a low-flying barn stormer showing off (again), but the scream of a jet. When it passed, Pam said "Wait for his mate....." and when nothing came, we relaxed, until the sound returned. By this time I was on my feet, thinking 'Bl**dy Tornadoes', but I was wrong (as usual!). 'My word, it's a Dessault Mirage 4000', I thought, looking up as it roared across, a couple of hundred

Thanks for the question, Joe. The Rarotonga - Honolulu RTWC leg was just east of where Amelia finally disappeared, so I looked up her bio: This from http://www.ellensplace.net/eae_intr.html So I guess it must be near here: Still no ideas about GtA??? Cheers - Dai.

Sorry, John, everywhere in FSX looks the same, doesn't it? It's not Melboure, Australia either, but they do speak the same language! Y'know I didn't mean you were banned, Fred - hey, guess away - you've probably got a more demanding spot up your sleeve...... :!: Cheers - Dai.

Not many visitors to the base at this time of year - just some-one with a penchant for fences: I used to walk to the gate at the other end of the runway and watch these ugly ducklings claw their way into the sky - making a fabulous racket and generating huge clouds of smoke as they left on yet another re-fuelling mission. Here's one for you, Joe: Love to carry on with the reminiscences, but that would make it too easy :!: C'mon lads - it's not that difficult......... Cheers - Dai.

Local pilot dices with the grim reaper...... This story appeared in the local paper, The Western Telegraph, about a month ago: I apologise for the poor quality, but you can read the text better here: http://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/search/display.var.1438245.0.plane_crash_pilot_how_i_cheated_death.php On a completely unrelated note, about 5 weeks ago, Pam and I were out in the back yard, enjoying a cuppa, when a white plane went over. Because we farm next to the sea, we get a lot of GA over us, particularly from EGFE (Haverfordwest Intnl) - they love to follow the coast, see the sight

We've got air-conditioning in our sheds too - but that's because of the gaps above the steel doors...... :!: Pam decorated the 'lambing' shed for my *0-th, last year - great idea. Keep up the good work, Joe!! Cheers - Dai
-
Now then, Joe, are you ready for this? These are our sheds, here at Shortlands: I took this from the captain's seat of an old SA/BA Bulldog that is currently at Haverfordwest Intnl (EGFE). Hope you like them - plenty more if you want (yawn.......) Cheers - Dai. p.s. Sun's out - the wind's off-shore - where's my long-board........?
