  1. Thanks again guys, I did used to have all my FSX realism sliders to the right but found it impossibly frustrating at times ... it made my simulated Aircraft almost eggshell fragile ... I'm sure those settings are not accurate, especially as they have to apply to a multitude of aircraft in the sim, but yes I'll dial up my realism again to a level I feel comfortable with ... to be honest I'll probably never fly a real aircraft again now so I'll cut myself a little slack Thanks though, your feedback is much appreciated.
  2. Will get back to you soon with this info, Dai Thanks again for making this mission better.
  3. Mark this as another successful sale/purchase on the Hanger, both items have arrived first thing this morning well packed and obviously quickly delivered. Tested too and all is well
  4. Hi Brian Hope you get the treatment and comfort you need for your back this time, I'm undergoing new treatment for my spine problem too and recently took an MRI scan that I'm awaiting the results on ... I'll shoot you a PM soon. All the best Colin
  5. I'm sure you are right Christopher in what you see, but I've not really spent much time flying over the border of Scotland/England to be honest ... I'm sure there are a ton of undetected errors in all the GenX volumes, we have what we have I guess ... I was banned from the Playhorizon forum for criticism too, but in fairness now that I look back the moderation seems much better and more pro-active and they are much better in keeping us informed on release dates.
  6. Thanks, yep that might not have been side-wind after all on take off ... it was an extremely calm day when they took off, but if that's P Factor as you say (and i don't doubt you) I'm going to hafe to factor that into my simulation too.
  7. Thanks guys. The FSX mission engine is pretty deep and I chose this one because it will help teach me more about navigation and radio usage. PS: Dont forget, the installer is broke, they are a French company I think and my French is not good, otherwise I'd have gave feedback, for sure choose any HD and folder you like at the prompt, let the installer do its thing, then grab the relevant folders and put them in your real FSX folder and you are good to go.
  8. Thanks Dai, if you could do a Fly Tampa Dubai edit of your mission. that would be excellent mate.

WTG Phil, looks like you are totality focused in FSX
  10. I think the Gen X people and their distributor have always been in a bit of a dither, the left hand never knows what the right hand does as an EG, but eventually they deliver the goods and sometimes a short sharp patch shortly after if its critical. I've found they don't welcome critical feedback, but if you are a Yes man or talk their talk, you are good to go. I've learned to just accept what they do over the years ... I tire of fighting my corner at age of 54... and its probably about the best UK photo scenery we will ever get for FSX. I just don't hold my breath for them any-mo

  12. PS : If you buy this it will install in a default C:\user\ETC every time default FSX folder on C:\, took me a while to see what the wrongness was and my FSX stuff was on F:\ if you don't have a default C:\ FSX folder and pointed to another, just go to the default C:\ folder it created, cut or copy the folder contents there and paste to your dedicated FSX drive install folder. the missions will then be there to enjoy.
  13. Great feedback guys ... I do have some real flight time in a Piper Warrior III and that's for another story but what honestly struck me upon this video was the physical take off side wind and I don't think our sim pilot was fully prepared for that? he kept over correcting. Also on final he was jabbing on and off with the power and I do this in FSX too, we both need to be much smoother in this area I reckon Could a simpilot do this in a modern Airliner? that's stuff for a different thread and I'm not going there
  14. OK, just back from some late night flying and could not resist trying this mission in FSX with the Fly Tampa Dubai scenery ... first off Dai, enjoyed the mission very much, I'll do that flight plan error message fix that was mentioned tomorrow (I get that in some other third party missions too) good voice acting ... I take it that is your voice? for the file size I never expected voice for this mission, well done As regards using this mission with the Fly Tampa Dubai scenery though ... there were bound to be conflicts, and you were quite right the conflict was with the helipad between the

Kevin my first PC was a 386 DX 33 MHz with a massive 4MB of ram back in 1991 I think it was, before that I was using an Amiga 500 with 512kb of ram that I upgraded to 1MB and that just ran off floppies! it was the computer that got me into Flight Sims though, it came as a bundle that I bought for just a data base for all my music LP's and CD's but part of the bundle included the Bob Dinnerman FA/18 Interceptor and to get sound I had to buy that expensive 512kb ram upgrade, but oh wow I was hooked, after buying a joystick too I was all of a sudden flying under the San Francisco bridge inverted

True Ray, SSD's are dropping in price rapidly now, when I bought my third gen 240 GB SSD less than two years back it was over £400, its about £120 ish now, but getting on for 1TB SSD's are still very very expensive though, its the way of the future though and in a few years we will laugh at what we paid for older tech HD's and SSD's today.
  17. Very good review Brian, just caught up with it after reading Johns post about the whiskey disaster and found this as a Similar Topic below that thread, as you know I'm from up here in the sticks too and was eagerly awaiting this volume to cover my neck of the woods, been back in this part of Scotland now since 1975 so know the area well too, great job Scotflight have a final release that covers this area now BTW. Will you be reviewing the soon to be released Gen X Vol 7 Scotland Midlands? its due about mid April I think, once I get that I'll have the full set of Gen X volumes and will
  18. Good Lord! I bet someone's up for the high jump for that mistake. As a Scot I cant drink whiskey any-more, it smells good right enough but makes me really ill, beer is all I drink now.
  19. Thanks for quick reply If I don't try it tonight I will soon and post back how it works with the Fly Tampa scenery, I can always temporarily un-check the Fly Tampa Dubai scenery in the scenery library if there are any conflicts or problems. Cheers.
  20. Hi Dai, does this mission work with the Fly Tampa Dubai Rebooted scenery? I've downloaded this mission anyway for a look ... cheers I tried the free limited ver of FSX Mission Editor a good while back but my attention wandered to something else, must give it a go soon. I'll try the other missions on offer here soon, I do enjoy a good FSX Mission.
  21. Just bought this from Flight Sim Pilot Shop for £5.50, and downloading its 803MB now, looks interesting and the missions seem quite advanced. http://www.fspilotshop.com/ras-fly-the-cessna-mission-pack-p-4126.html?utm_campaign=february&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=fsc
  22. Sorry if this has already been posted, but this guy did. The fun stuff starts at about 6:30 minutes in.
  23. Adding to this, Phil did reply to my PM I just never saw it! (looks like you cant edit posts in this section, probably a good policy)
  24. Looks like this is going to be a reality, heard on Radio Scotland about this yesterday that ticket allocation is way over subscribed and first class tickets will be about 1 million GBP, Kennedy family have booked cabins apparently! Also a guy on another forum I frequent was at the press launch today ... Wish i could afford it
  25. Phil, check your PM box please, PM'd you last night for Paypal addy, can pay today as agreed if the deal is still on.
