jaydor 345
Hi Minx You will have to remember the magic of when you were young and hope Father Christmas will be kind to you. "Smile" hubbies reading over your shoulder..
hlminx 301
Dear Santa, for my gift this year, I have a cunning plan, and if you can deliver, I will be a happy (wo)man... On Christmas morn EGHI please leave upon my bed, but if you can't deliver... I'll take stacks of cash instead ;-)
Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
You little minx, you won't need cash to increase Christmas cheer, For Santa will know very well how good you've been all year. E G H I you'll surely find will be within your stocking (Unless, of course, your husband caught you doing something shocking?). (Sorry, Steph, couldn't resist it). Cheers, Bruce
J G 927
it seems the Orbx Christmas fairy is only interested in our antipodean cousins. The Orbx offers are for DVDs and not downloads. Needless to say the shipping costs are more than the item costs.

Internet speeds even in this neck of the woods (a couple of miles from a major city) are totally pitiful, so id be collecting my pension if I had to download everything. Im kinda like that with books. Something to be said for a slightly smelly, yellowing printed book with the odd coffee cup ring, folded over pages and the odd pencil mark in the margin ;-)Minx
Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
@Steph Glad to hear that, (can't upset 'em, it'd be a shame). And as far as airports go, I reckon EGHI is Orbx's finest hour. (Such a pleasant change from all those boring grass strips that won't even take a 777)! Ah, but you're another unfortunate with a birthday in January, my commiserations...... Mine's near the start of January, too, so everybody's Christmas'd out, New Year'd out, partied out.... And the funny thing is, it's the same every year..... Cheers, Bruce

Cheers, Bruce Thankfully mine is right at the end of the month but its still a bit too close to the festive season. Like you say, everyone has run out of cash after the monetary excesses of Chrismas and New Year so it tends to be a bit of an anticlimax. I reckon us 'unfortunates' should adopt the same policy as our good Queen, and have a second birthday in Summer...what do you reckon?
Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
:thum: I've been floating that idea for ever, but somehow in my case it has never caught on, though.... Cheers, Bruce (Currently trying to download FTX Global v1.1 — along with everyone else on my vertebra of the Internet backbone in the vicinity, to judge by the download speeds. 48 minutes for 4.6Gb sheesh..... )

Grumble grumble ;-)

Christopher Low 63
What speed are your connections, guys? 48 minutes for 4.6GB sounds about right for mine. The best I have ever had for a single download is 13.6Mbps, but Steph is talking about 200?!!
Kevin Firth 114
Steph did you mean 200kbps? Chris I want to know who your provider is!!! I'm supposedly on a 30mbps cable connection but barely get up to 1mbps
Christopher Low 63
I use TalkTalk. I don't get 13.6Mbps these days because they throttled it back slightly a few months ago for stability reasons after I started having problems with disconnections. Somewhat disappointing on paper, but I am happy to be getting 10.6Mbps at the moment, because the stability has been excellent since that was done.
