Due to lack of interest we have suspended the prize contest for the time being.

Thanks to everyone who has taken part and to Just Flight for supporting us.

We are hoping to bring the contest back later in the year if we get the demand.

Thanks,

Joe

Thats a shame, I thought the contests were well supported.  :(

Unfortunately, if you look back through the forum you can see a big downward trend.

We'll revisit after a break for a few months and re-launch it maybe in a new format.

Cheers,

Joe

That's a shame, Joe. I didn't realise that interest had dropped off as much as it has. I'll admit that I don't enter too often because my system spec's aren't really up to it - we've had this discussion before, I think. I'll certainly miss the comp, particular the jokey subjects.

Look forward to its reinstatement...

Cheers - Dai.

Bad news, boss. I hadn't noticed that there were fewer entries. I wonder if some of the topics were a little bit of a stretch in an effort to keep trying something new and different. Possibly making the topics broader and more generic might make it a little easier for people to enter.

It could be that many people don't have the specialist aircraft in their systems for some of the competions and therefore could not contribute. Maybe we ought to go back to basics and have comps where only the systems default aircraft could be used :(  . That I feel though will become boring very quickly. Ho hum! :wacko2:

Maybe broad categories such as Airliners, GA, Military, Approach Shots, Landings, Takeoffs, Bad WX, etc. might work out better. Most people can dredge up something in one of those categories without much of a stretch. I agree, however, that giving the whole thing a rest for a few months might be a good thing to do.

Sad to hear about this also. I think people just felt that there system does not produce good enough images, that would be a mistake because I have won twice using a laptop and limited effect programs. like we have stated in the past, pegging the theme was more important that visual background. I also agree that too tight a theme makes it hard to enter, there were a few that I could not enter due to lack of aircraft.

Hope it will be back soon as I always enjoyed looking at the entries. :)

Of course you want it back Brett. You keep blimmin' winning it! :D

Congratulations on your win, I was going to post a couple more shots but when I saw your entry I thought I wouldn't have a chance. :hat:

I guess I helped with this... I kept on thinking, planning routes, then thinking of the hassle and trying to remind myself how to resize the pictures I got so they fit. At least with ATWC I could just upload and link without worrying about cropping.

Personally I don't think the competitions should be wider in subject - 'Search And Rescue in the mountains' is likely to get more screenshots and pique more imagination than 'Mountains'. Although I don't have any SAR stuff so the few times I dust of FSX during the empty holidays and the subject defies me! :P

Hi Joe,

Very sad to read about the comp. suspension. :( I always looked forward to entering the competition and had a lot of fun doing it. I also enjoyed looking at everyones shots too. It's was great to have the chance to win and add to my hangar. I found that it was a nice feeling to be flying an aircraft that you won via this competition. Maybe it's time to take a rest, but I for one can't wait for it to come back soon even if it's in a new format. :thum: :thum:

Thanks Joe

Kind Regards Mike
