Leg 24 — Macau Int'l (VMMC) to Ninoy Aquino Int'l (RPLL)

Recommended Posts

Sorry this is so late.  Let's just say there are plenty of distractions in Macao.

I also learned a few things during my stay.

  • Just because you haven't won for a while doesn't mean you're due.
  • DON'T PAWN THE BATON

It took some Mission Impossible style hijinks (a story for another time), and you can get away with a lot of things under the cover of darkness, but I got the baton back.

Slinking out of Macao in the middle of the night

Lined up and ready to get the heck out of there

There are some interesting stories back there

Looks like it's going to be a great day for flying.

Oh crap!  Maybe I should have spent a bit more time looking at the weather forecasts

Land ho!

Enough of this.  There's a hole to hopefully smoother air.

Not much better down here.  Oh well

Finally a break in the weather.  It's a pretty country when you can see it.

Turning on the last leg to RPLL

Lots of reminders as to how these islands were formed

Wow.  Manila is pretty big.

Parked at the back end of the airport.  Hopefully no one is looking for me.

Now I just need to find John so I can pass off the baton.

Some fantastic views on this flight, :thum: thanks for the ride along. Nice choice of aircraft too, the Goose is a classic. :)

Good thing you got the baton back, last person that lost it was never heard from again. :whis:

I was beginning to wonder what happened to the baton, now I'm glad I don't know all the details... What happens in Macau stays in Macau. Glad you got it back, even if you didn't win it back.

At least you rolled some mostly lucky weather... & a pretty flight to Manila overall.

Looks like Pat Moran and I will be heading that way soon, he has something afoot he wants my help with and the ATWC sounded like a good format for his project. I think his participation last time got him interested in the ATWC, but he isn't admitting it.

Cheers. See you later in Darwin! (oops...read the board wrong, I'll be handing baton to John in Darwin...barring mishaps [knocks on wood]).

Well the baton was in relatively good condition when I gave it to you. Mind you, I seem to recall that that was a pretty wild night.     ^_^

Great pics, Pete, and it looks like you had a fun flight (it's always interesting to have some random challenges en route)!

And I have to like the colour scheme of your aircraft repaint.   ;)

Cheers,

Well well, pawning the Baton.. hmm..  I wonder if we can trust you with it again Pete  :D

Great shots, and you got that blue bit delivered in the end, that's what matters!
