brett 2,316
Has anybody ever heard of this Tobii EyeX Controller or used it in FSX? Would be a nice alternative to TrackIR and do away with all the wires hanging off your headset. Only $140 bucks. http://www.tobii.com/xperience/products/#TobiiEyeXSoftware
needles 1,013
Never heard of it Brett but it looks interesting. i wonder if it would let the PC shout at me if I happen to be looking out of window into the garden, while I'm flying and not paying attention.
mutley 4,498
I have this, it's very clever but far more difficult to use than TIR, to pan around you have to keep your head still and swipe your eyes in the directions you want the screen to move, this makes for a very tiring experience for your eyes. Also you cannot lean forward to take a closer look at an instrument. I wouldn't recommend it for use in flight sim. (That's why I never reviewed it) PS. I'm open to offers on mine, only used once! J G 927
I am not sure I want another thing in my life that tells me what I am going to do next. I already have one. Its called a Wife v1.
Captain Coffee 2,030
Hmmm...can't move head. Probably the changing face aspect confuses the camera...sounds like it would dim the sim if you look over to grab a beer, which would kill a video in progress. Cant drink beer and fly is a non starter for me. Coff.

Philmurfin 51
Does anyone know if it would work with P3D and X-Plane please? Also, I 'm wondering if it can be used by we middle ageis who need to wear specs. Thank Phil
brett 2,316
I was watching a guy named Devil Dog Gamer doing a video review and it did have some good aspects but also bad. He was in a in-picture shot while he played a shoot-em-up and looked a bit crazy with his eyeballs rolling around in his head. I guess this is why I never heard of it. Thank Phil Hi Phil, At the time of writing it was only FSX, here is a link to the supported applications page: http://www.tobii.com/xperience/apps/ Cheers, Joe
Philmurfin 51
Thanks Jo, I was half suspecting that it may have worked using the migration tool, but then again, maybe not. Thanks for your help. Best! Phil
mutley 4,498
Hi Phil, In this case I don't think it would work with Estonia's MT and it would be a considerable investment if it didn't. The tracker, however, does allow for us speccies. To be honest, I can only see benefit for those that have limited head and hand movement as you can select options with mere eye direction (yes, I am thinking of Prof Stephen Hawking) then it would definitely be a game changer. /Joe
Philmurfin 51
Thanks Joe, you explained that well. I'll look elsewhere, I just don't seem able to make friends with TrackIR Joe, thanks again! Phil
Philmurfin 51
Hey Jo - Well you're the same age as me, you'll recognise Hendrix! Jo I am interested enough to maybe give it a try, if yours is up for sale, could you PM me please. Thanks Phil
