Eye Controller

Recommended Posts

Never heard of it Brett but it looks interesting.

i wonder if it would let the PC shout at me if I happen to be looking out of window into the garden, while I'm flying and not paying attention.:yikes:

I have this, it's very clever but far more difficult to use than TIR, to pan around you have to keep your head still and swipe your eyes in the directions you want the screen to move, this makes for a very tiring experience for your eyes. Also you cannot lean forward to take a closer look at an instrument.

I wouldn't recommend it for use in flight sim. (That's why I never reviewed it)

PS. I'm open to offers on mine, only used once!

Hmmm...can't move head. Probably the changing face aspect confuses the camera...sounds like it would dim the sim if you look over to grab a beer, which would kill a video in progress.

Cant drink beer and fly is a non starter for me.

:)

Coff.

I was watching a guy named Devil Dog Gamer doing a video review and it did have some good aspects but also bad. He was in a in-picture shot while he played a shoot-em-up and  looked a bit crazy with his eyeballs rolling around in his head.:D I guess this is why I never heard of it.^_^

Semper Fi Devil Dog :salute:

Does anyone know if it would work with P3D and X-Plane please?

Also, I 'm wondering if it can be used by we middle ageis who need to wear specs.

Thank

Phil

Hi Phil,

At the time of writing it was only FSX, here is a link to the supported applications page: http://www.tobii.com/xperience/apps/

Cheers,

Hi Phil,

In this case I don't think it would work with Estonia's MT and it would be a considerable investment if it didn't.  The tracker, however, does allow for us speccies. :D

To be honest, I can only see benefit for those that have limited head and hand movement as you can select options with mere eye direction (yes, I am thinking of Prof Stephen Hawking) then it would definitely be a game changer.

Has anybody ever heard of this Tobii EyeX Controller or used it in FSX? Would be a nice alternative to TrackIR and do away with all the wires hanging off your headset. Only $140 bucks. http://www.tobii.com/xperience/products/#TobiiEyeXSoftware

Froogle did a review of it a couple of months ago.. but I think he skipped testing it in FSX..
