mutley 4,497
Here are some shots I took from the show this weekend, please add yours here if you have any! I really didn't get to photo all the show as we were very busy throughout! Hopefully we will get some more shots added. Special shout-outs for all the UK Mutley Crew who bar-none attended the show and helped in many ways to make it a success. Set up day, Jack came straight down to the show after taking an exam in the morning, he still had his uniform on. Dad Martin in the forground busy wiring up the HSI, in the background, Dai, Jess B and Lynda. Friday evening and the annual Mutley's Hangar Crew party, for the second year running. Jack devours the Ultimate Burger comprisng 3 x 8 ounce burgers and fries etc. Dai with a meat-fest that is spare ribs, Tim taking a few shots. Rob arrived just as they served our food, the first pint already had! all the UK crew (and a couple of partners) now present. Dai, Rob and Brian, enjoying a tea break. Dai was telling a few yarns and trying not to sneeze Jess got stuck on the PC Pilot stand showing off her latest review item for PCP the ChillBlast triple screen setup. Large monitor showing the 767 overhead that was interfaced with Jack's panel, Tim's latest Plan-G V3 on the laptop was being given its first public view Jack's panel put in an upright rig so people could see it in action. In the foreground is the modules and wiring driving his panels 3 of the 5/6 panels completed. Bob Sidwick popping in for a chat and to borrow a VGA cable. Jack with his cuppa New forum-buddy James (Jaydor) having a chat with Rob Sharing a joke Jack and dad Martin were extremely busy, their panel attracted a lot of attention and questions. The ATWC was on show Random shot, RC Simulations in the middle next to them were Alpine systems who were right next to us. Martin has his folder to hand, judging by his expression something was up with the panel! The problem is probably in here somewhere! Tim, Dai and Brian enjoying a joke. Obviously not funny! Dai about to use the baton for something it wasn't intended for! Brian's panel as featured in our forums. Brian had lots of interest and offers for the panel, shame we didn't have a PC to bring it alive, maybe next time. Some of the crew, Brian, Jack, Joe, Tim and Dai. (Not in picture, Rob, Martin or Jess) Tim has a lot of interest in Plan-G, few of his beta testers also popped in, Andrew Holdsworth from Flightstore checking out the workings of Brian's panel. Stand deserted, it must be lunch time! Finally, Rich Slater from Just Flight showing off the Baton before it starts it's Around The World Challenge (IV) that will be launched soon I hope you enjoyed this selection. Cheers, Joe

Regards Mike H Thanks Mike, As you can see, we are pretty harmless but I wouldn't want to meet Rob on a dark night!! It was our best show event ever and I was genuinely taken aback by the amount interest we had from the industries biggest players, all coming to visit us to talk about reviews past and present. Quite a bit of business went on Cheers, Joe
colwah 0
Great pictures Joe, nice to put faces to names! I will have to try and make it to one of the shows to meet everyone! It looks like you all had a great time!

allardjd 1,853
What a great set of photos - I'd sure have loved to have been there for that. Happy to see the baton getting so much attention and glad all of you had a good time. Looks like Rob and Jack are at opposite ends of the haircut spectrum, but Dai and Brian are giving Rob some company at his end. A Mutley crew indeed... John EDIT: Where are the 200 W amplifier and 24" speakers blaring the MH Anthem? JDA
mutley 4,497
Nearly John, nearly, I had a few sound issues and I couldn't find the file. I am sure if I looked now I would find it! Joe
SEATAC 400
Thanks for sharing those photos Joe. Looks like it was a good time. Wish I could've been there. I didn't know there was an actual baton. Jack's and Brian's panels looked great. Why wasn't Brian's hooked up? It would've been a show stopper I'm sure.
britfrog 180
well sadly I could not make it over, but it is nice to put some faces to the hanger crew. It is interesting to note that we all seem to belong to the old farts club if grecian 2000 were sold on site they would make a mint! I love the bundle of wires and the long face, reminds me of my youth when my father had a model railway and the points failed in the middle of the tunnel with no easy access point ,having carved a hole in the "hillside" he eventually traced the problem to a loose connection about 2 feet from where he had been sitting. however I hope there were more youngsters there than your pics indicate because if not our hobby is really in trouble! Perhaps M.S. was right in creating flight to stimulate new young blood into the flying fraternity and drag them away from shoot em up games. i have noted the same trend on the latest avsim poll. brett 2,314
Almost like being there. Thanks for the shots of what look liked a great time. It was nice to see some faces attached to your names. Would have been nice to be there myself as it looked like fun. Plus you could have added another "old fart" to the picture. The picture of Dai with the baton and a straight faced Brian could be worthy of the Caption The Picture thread but it might overheat the censor machine.
mutley 4,497
@Britfrog, what you have to remember is that the crew bring you over 400 years of experience! With Jack and Rob included, it brings the average age to around 45 Grecian 2000 was never my thing, I'm growing old disgracefully. For all you who "wished you were here", we missed you and would have enjoyed meeting you too. Thanks for your kind comments.
dodgy-alan 1,587
looks like you guys had fun, they seemed to have changed the displays around somewhat since I was last there. ie where that Italian Agusta 109 now stands was where the Bell UH 1 Huey was. there are a few other additions too. I,ll have to dig the pics out. A revisit is due methinks.
dodgy-alan 1,587
That Super Frelon is normally open to to the public, shame you didnt get a look inside it. Its massive in there ! Wish someone would model it for FS !.
stu7708 244
Looks like you guys had a great weekend! A shame I couldn't get myself there. Keeping my fingers crossed there's one next year, and that I can make it then.
ddavid 149
O.K. - some shots from me... First, Martin's Sticky Toffee and gravy?!? An old Bell-47 - straight out of M.A.S.H. My all time favourite - the UH-1/Iroquaiy: A nice Robinson R-22: Ah - Jack's OHP - miles of wire! The famous ATWC Baton: Tim putting the finishing touches to Plan-G V3: Brians Panel and Sharon's sister, Julie: Alpins Systems spread: Just Flight's humungous screen - and "Guess The Aircraft"!?! That's a Piasecki Retriever behind the Virtual MoD: The Virtual RAF, which included the BBMF crew: Mac and Rich from Komodo Systems: Komodo's incredible wrap around screen - and me, battling with the controls, as ever: The majestic Hind - Ouch! A Wessex from the Queen's Flight: Jess-B and Lynda at the PC-Pilot stand: This Lynx has an ejector seat - Oh Yes It Has!! The Sycamore, which used to be manufactured here at Weston: An amazing place, the Helicopter Museum - worth a visit in its own right. A great day seeing some of my best friends - Magic! brett 2,314
Great pic's Dai. Hope you didn't crash in that sweet looking heli simulator. An ejection seat in a heli, never would have known. Does it shoot you up into the rotors?
mutley 4,497
Thanks for adding your shots Dai, it's great to see it from another persons perspective Brian has a picture of me at the Komodo stand making a complete b*lls up of flying the chopper. I can't believe how sensitive the controls are!
brett 2,314
I liked the wrap around screen in the simulator. When is someone going to figure a way to bend an LED screen into a nice 46" package?
mutley 4,497
Brett, You would need about 4 x 46" It's like a mini Imax!
brett 2,314
Yee haw....now that would be something to behold. I agree Hmmm, I quess it would be quite expensive and I know they wouldn't take my wife in trade(she's the only thing I have thats really expensive ).....oh well
PanzerFodder 0
Good photo's Guy and Gals . Looks like you all had a lot of fun, I used to live just down the road from Weston when I was in the UK, fish and chips on the Sea Front anyone??? . Cheer's...Graham...
