Leg 20: Wellington Intl- Rarotonga
mutley replied to Martyn's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Fantastic post Martyn, Made even better for me by spending the last 2 hours of the fight on MSN last night talking me through the progress, I was passing the updates on to dgor on the other line! You weren't kidding about the fuel  If these are your laptop graphics the machine must have go red hot :mrhappy: I've never seen better, the cockpit detail really is some of the best I have seen. The airport scenery doesn't look too bad, ideal for this sort of use. Thanks again for taking the challenge over the international date line and one step closer to completion. Ready now for dda -
Well done Sam, you are definitely on the ball there! Public holiday = Feb 4 Start of Liberation War. Airport is Luanda - 4 de Fevereiro Airport (LAD/FNLU) in Angola. Do you fancy posting the next one? Please?? Cheers

I'd like to see you get a real one in your bedroom Theo!

True enough Phil. The airport is named after a public holiday in this country. Airport Elevation 74m (242ft) Here is a picture of some of the currency Does that :mrhappy: :?:

Well I live on the South coast where a lot of our weather can come from Europe or even jetsteam in from Northern Africa. Further up north in the "Black country" where Uncle Martin lives it barely gets above freezing, that's what I've heard. :mrhappy: I few years ago I'm sure I never used to get so hot, perhaps it's my age, Uncle Martin will be able to tell you about that. Like you say it's the humidity that is a killer, we have three fine days and a thunderstorm then summer's over! Cheers
-
They reckon it will reach 38+ this year. That's not to say we get that every day but I guess around 28 would be average in summer where I live.

Cheers Joe

Too hot for you Joe ? :mrhappy: It's been in the middle 20's for the past week, not bad for April.

Here is the cream of the crop from the past two weeks in no particular order. If you click on the shots (Which I recommend) it will take you to the whole post! We can't not reward Fred for 14 .5 hours in a heavy! ... and landing safely Phil's Leg 15 to Hong Kong some excellent sunset shots. Sam's breathtaking shots in leg 16. Joe's Mustang Fun post was one of my all time favourites Simi's classic DC4 produced some classic shots in leg 18 And finally Freds trading Capitals post landing at Frankfurt Main. There we go another great couple of weeks! Thanks for the shots and k

Martin, I was reaching for the allergy relief when I got home hence the comment! Don't normally suffer too much but the tree pollen does it for me, specially Silver Birch :mrhappy: It is nice here but I guess we just get used to where we live and forget how it may look to someone else. More information on the Ruined Palace here Cheers

I've just tried that, you are right! You will be giving me private tuition next :mrhappy:

Heads up, I have just updated Joe's blog with the latest on his training. If you want to ask Joe anything about the training I'm sure he will oblige! http://www.mutleyshangar.com/features/t ... ans601.htm There should be an update most weeks :mrhappy:
-
No need to poke Fred, I noticed yesterday that I forgot to do it last Sunday so I will do a double post later on today :mrhappy:
-
Thanks Fred! These were the better views, I forgot about the name of that road until I walked past it! If anyone wants to add a picture of where you live to this post, feel free :mrhappy:

Thanks Ben, Keep an eye out for when I post info on the Americas section. Cheers -
As mentioned in another thread the cheque is in the post :mrhappy: I took these shots on my way to the post office this morning (Yes, we still have one!) A bit of commentary included First stop the South Pond I woke these guys up! A view over to the Palace Ruin, doesn't look so good here as I'm shooting into the sun. This one is quite simply called "Fag Butt" this sort of thing annoys me because a) obviously it was discarded with no attempt to extinguish it and  I don't smoke /RANT! This is some excavation the council are carrying out to take the flood waters away from

I bet that was fun to watch! and really didn't put people off their food :mrhappy:

WOW the fact you used that word impressed me. I had to look it up. [soopinayshn] A movement of the forearm in which the palm of the hand is brought to face forwards, so that the thumb is directed away from the body. In this position the radius and ulna lie parallel to each other. It is a much more powerful movement than pronation, and as most people are right-handed, this accounts for the right-hand thread on screws and other such phenomena. What are you.. some sort of freak?

What are you waiting for? (FSX)
