A 77 year old man is having a drink in a bar. Suddenly this gorgeous girl walks in and sits down a few seats away from him. The girl is so good looking that he just can't take his eyes off of her. After a short while, the girl notices him staring at her, and approaches him. Before the man has time to apologize, the girl looks him deep in the eyes and says to him in a sultry tone: "I'll do anything you'd like. Anything you can imagine in your wildest dreams, it doesn't matter how extreme or unusual it is, I'm game. But I want $100, and there's a condition". Completely stunned by the s -

Try the Flightsim.com file library section "FSX - Jetliners" and/or "FSX - Propliners" with a search term of "default". Not everything that comes up will be what you're looking for but I think some of them will be. John

10% of F-22s Damaged or Destroyed by Storm
allardjd replied to allardjd's topic in Real World Aviation
Maybe some good news here... or maybe just spin. Repairs to these things are also very expensive, but given where we are probably worth it to keep the damaged AC in the inventory. There aren't all that many of them that giving up on a couple dozen is a good option. https://twitchy.com/gregp-3534/2018/10/16/update-on-the-damaged-f-22-stealth-fighters-at-tyndall-air-force-base/ From the one video I've seen it appears that a lot of the damage came from impact by flying or falling foreign objects when the hangar(s) became open to the WX. For stealthy aircraft, dings and dents are a bi -
Pretty sure they're in the individual aircraft texture files in FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/…. The default 747-400, for instance, has ten texture folders listed for it. John

10 Percent of Critical F-22 Fleet Reportedly Damaged or Destroyed by Hurricane Michael https://pjmedia.com/trending/10-percent-of-critical-f-22-fleet-reportedly-damaged-or-destroyed-by-hurricane-michael/ Illustrating once again that capping production at about 190 airframes was short-sighted. As I understand it, all that were flyable were flown out and those remaining could not be flown for some technical (or administrative) reason. I don't claim to know how the AF manages this kind of thing and this observation is, of course, made with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. I

Bad Day At The Office And One F-16 Destroyed
allardjd replied to Andrew Godden's topic in Real World Aviation
Ouch. Good thing no serious injuries resulted - that wasn't a given and there had to be some luck involved in that. I'm guessing this guy is going to be re-assigned to civilian life as soon as he gets out of the stockade, though this being Europe maybe they'll give him a medal and a promotion instead. John -
Hmmm... have to think about this a little. Given the probable size of the user base still on FSX-SE and, potentially, also still on the older P3D 32-bit versions, I'm inclined to question this from a "support for the community" point of view. On the other hand, they're a commercial company with a moral and legal obligation to remain viable and turn a profit for their owners/shareholders. P3D V4 and, possibly X-Plane, is almost certainly where the money is, going forward. Many/most who are still using FSX/FSX-SE and earlier versions of P3D are doing so because they can't or don't want

Originally there was some confusion whether this was an undershoot or an overrun. Since the AC was still floating some speculated that it pivoted on a grounded engine and was pointing opposite the way it landed. That turns out not to be the case and it was in fact an undershoot. John

It may be possible to edit the Orbx version of the airport in ADE. I'm not sure as I don't have any Orbx stuff and don't know how the library files are handled, but there's an "Open Airport from BGL file" option under the File menu pad in ADE. Another option might to be to ask Orbx on their web site. John

If you ever used the old AFCAD for FS9, this should feel pretty familiar. You do have to define taxi paths to connect your new parking spots to the runway(s) and other taxiways, and if there are no start points you'll have to add them to the runway(s) too. Military fields in FS often lack these features which is why traffic and ATC normally (mis)behave differently at those than at normal airports. It's all drag and drop and really pretty easy. You cannot save an edited airport to the original file it came from for a number of reasons so when you have it the way you wa
