Thanks Jim. I think I will give NOAA a spin to see how that goes. The default sky and clouds seem good to me so I will leave them alone. I have to say its been almost a month since I went X-Plane and I am still wowed by it. I have gone from MSFS WTF its crashed again to X-Plane WTF that's brilliant! I am also spending more time flying now as I don't spend ages trying to figure out what has gone wrong in FSX.

Awesome weather! What software do you use?

At the moment I am thinking that I should let X-Plane update the live weather and get Active sky. I don't need updates to the weather any more often than once an hour so this seems, on the face of it, to be a good option. I would quite like to get some feedback from you X-Plane old timers on this proposal. Thanks

I like to use real weather so xEnviro looks good to me although $70 is a bit more than I want to spend right now having just purchased X-Plane 11 loads of ORBX stuff and three top end payware aircraft since Christmas. (the wife doesn't need to know this ) Can you turn off xEnviro and set up the weather in X-Plane native? It looks like what I need but I would like to be able to step outside it once in a while.

I would be keen to know how you get on with Ultra Weather XP as I would like to install a weather program into my XP setup. Do you know if it has "live" weather?
