  1. Hi again Nigel, GREAT you got FSET up and running and you can now see how good the software is. No more default FSX cartoon scenery from now on then! Happy scenery making and flying. Cheers, Michael, Umbria, Central Italy.
  2. Hi, I agree with Kevin that FS Earth tiles is a lot easier to use than SBuilder X. I have used SBX in the past and found it very time consuming in getting small amounts of photo real scenery. With FSET you can leave the PC on over night and be flying over your home made scenery after breakfast!! If you would like a full working FSET 1.03b send me a PM and I can email it to you. Cheers, Michael.
  3. Hi Kevin, Sorry for the delay in my reply. The magic number is 166. Hope this helps you out. Cheers, Michael.
  4. Just getting back to you Kevin, tried using Internet Explorer 8 and boy you have to be fast with good eyes!!!!! Anyway got the MAGIC code number and it WORKS a treat, thanks again for the tip!!!! Cheers, Michael.
  5. Thanks Kevin that's a very useful tip. I will give that a try later. Google satellite images are getting a bit old now although Virtual Earth are more up to date as of last year. Cheers, Michael.
  6. Thanks Joe for your reply. Looking at the number of views I may not be alone?! It may be something to do with my new computer and Windows 7 as it all worked OK on my old Windows XP machine. Anyway thanks again for your reply. Cheers, Michael.PS As a by the by you can now download and use Google Earth Pro for FREE!!!!!!
  7. Just visited their web site to be told they have ceased trading!!!!!
  8. Hi Everyone, Homemade scenery using FS Earth Tiles software. In the last few weeks my GE images are coming up with no tiles available across parts of the UK and Europe. Virtual Earth is still 100% OK. Perhaps I need to update the GE codes? Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Michael.

  12. That made very interesting reading and I wish them success for their future projects. Thanks Dai. Cheers, Michael.
  13. Thanks for all your comments. OK lets do this in some sort of order, James in Wales have a look on YouTube my channel IZ0JUB it has over 30 videos of me flying over my home made scenery. You can make 500 square miles of scenery over night whilst asleep! The following morning you paste the bgl files into a folder add it to your FSX and your flying over your own home made scenery whilst eating your breakfast. The images are good at 600 feet above ground and at 1200 are incredible!! Let me know how you get on please. Kevin, all your points noted but the point I was trying to make to othe
  14. Not all commercial photo real scenery is poor I have watched Dai's videos testing his latest stuff and its very impressive. The question I have to ask others is why not make your own scenery, its NOT difficult and with the software I use FSET its almost a one button press and away you go. The coastlines need a little more work to do the water mask which I am redoing on my West Wales at the moment. I have to point out that I am no expert and all the stuff on the internet led me up the garden path, I had to learn the hard way by trial and error until I got FSET to work correctly. I
  15. Hi Chris, Burning the mid-night oil here and have made some progress and tested the water mask facility in FSET. I knew the select button was there but never felt brave enough to select YES. After a lot of experimenting it works perfectly OK and I can now edit my images around the coastlines of Wales to see the FSX default sea. Thought I would let you know my progress. Kindest Regards, Michael.
  16. Hi Chris, Well I have the kml file how do I get it to you? Cheers, Michael.
  17. Hi again Chris, Well that's very kind of you to offer help as I have been looking at this water mask etc for FSX and it might as well be in Martian. The videos are of Pembokeshire which is in West Wales, UK.The port of Milford Haven was in the latest video Part 4. and landing at Haverfordwest Airfield, EGFE, if this is of any help to you. Kindest Regards, Michael.
  18. Hi Chris and Kevin, Thanks for your comments, I know, I took the cheats way out and avoided doing the water masks. To be honest I haven't a clue how to do it anyway but thanks for the link Kevin I will take a good look at this and start a new learning curve. I do try and not fly over the sea but it would be great to see the FSX water effects instead of my botched attempt at reproducing water. Thanks again and back to the drawing board! Cheers, Michael. P.S. Yes I am using FSET the latest November HB-100 & MJS 2012 version
  19. Thanks Dai for sharing this with us, it captured the true spirit of the event. Kindest Regards, Michael.
  20. Hi all, Well this link comes with some interesting feed back from YT as they have emailed me a block in certain countries due to copyrights on the music I have used by WMG. Interesting as the list of performers making the claims are NOT even used in my video!!!! Just to put the cat among the pigeons I have uploaded the same video to DM, I wonder if they will be hot on my tail!!!!!????? So whilst playing the video if you could turn the sound down or off I'm sure WMG may feel a little easier!!!???? Enjoy the video anyway. Cheers, Michael.
  21. Hi Sam, Just watched your video, very professional and you recovered from the low level approach really well. Thanks very much and keep them coming....................... Cheers, Michael.
  22. Hi, Well, here we go again, I have uploaded to YT and DM this time and must admit I get far better quality on DM more so in full screen mode, thanks to Chris Bell for his help on this one, it did pay off. The aircraft is an interesting one, the original design by Anton Flettner back in the 1930's and modeled for FS2002/FS9 by Kevin Bryan of Unreal Aviation. Here is the DM web link.... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x27f9a3_my-pembrokeshire-part-3_travel Hope you enjoy the video. Kindest Regards, Michael.
  23. Hi all, Well thank you so much for the kind comments. Yes Dai I agree with you 100% when I switched the engine off just a few feet above ground level the auto gyro stops dead in my model and not sure how to undo that problem? Glad you saw your farm and the tiles are this year so its very much up to date. Thanks again. Kindest Regards, Michael.
  24. Hi everyone, Well to all of those who do not have a nervous disposition here goes with another one.... http://youtu.be/iQwntXEadDY Kindest Regards, Michael.
