Just a short video clip, unedited, of my first balloon flight over Ireland..................it was great fun................
-
The balloon is for the old flight sim and doesn't work, try this one for FSX..... http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2992/fsx-cameron-hot-air-balloon/get/ Obviously you have to unzip the files and I made a new folder called Balloon. Don't make the same mistake that I made and it didn't work with an error message. You ALSO have to copy the two files from the Effects folder into FSX Effects folder too. As Kevin always says .............................RTFM....................................... Just off ballooning over Ireland and to upload some pictures. Cheers, Mik

Many thanks Adrian for posting the link. I have now downloaded the file again plus the balloon and bookmarked the web site. Cheers, Mike.

Beginner Missions & Back Ache
IZ0JUB replied to bilirubin's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
Hi Mike, Your back and neck aches are probably being caused by two things one already mentioned of the DEATH GRIP on the joystick. The second is the fact of your joystick stuck up in the air on your desk. Screw the joystick to a piece of wood and then screw the other end of the wood to the underneath of your office chair. Now the joystick will be between your legs as it would in most aircraft. This will give you a more relaxed flying experience. Cheers, Mike. The rudder pedals made of stuff lying around the house and didn't cost me a dime. They work very well too. -
Almost getting there on the decorating front but the grass cutting.....................oh boy................................ its growing at an incredible rate here, but its a nice walk around our 3 acres of land behind the Honda grass cutter. TTFN, cheers, Mike

Thanks Dai for your kind comments. The satellite images for this part of Scotland are not good and seem to lack contrast as you say. In fact a large section of Central Scotland has no workable images so I had to give up on that and revert to the default scenery which is a joke as you know. Anyway off to do some more of Ireland............................................ Cheers, Mike.

Here we go Dai and all members, hang on to your hats.................................

No problem at all Dai I will try and fly over Skye later and upload some images for you and the forum. Cheers, Mike.

Between Painting and Grass Cutting - Ireland Photo Real Scenery
IZ0JUB replied to IZ0JUB's topic in Screenshots
Thanks for the comments John and removing the duplicate post Dai. Not sure what happened , it came up with a message saying that there was an error and to wait 2 seconds. So I posted again and then realized that it was duplicated and didn't know how to delete it. Too technical for me Dai!!!! Cheers, Mike -
I know of the family in Milford. Cheers, Mike

What incredible ladies.....................thanks very much Nigel for the link. Cheers, Mike -
Thanks for the comments. I had the scenery sliders throttled back and the FPS set to 27. Auto gen off as its not needed with the homemade scenery. Operating in full screen mode. Cheers, Mike.

Hi again Mike, Congratulations on taking to the skies at last. I revisited the latest updated FSX SE Steam and have downloaded it onto an external HD and it seems OK so maybe not a waste of 5 euros after all. With the updated version you do not have to be online to fly unless you are using multi-player. Cheers, Mike.

Just landed after a very successful flight in FSX SE Steam version 314160. No tweaks no mods just homemade scenery and I must now admit it works OK from an external HD. I have the FPS set at 29 and it just chugs along in ALL camera views at that FPS so that's OK by me with smooth operation and a lot less blurry's than my old FSX Acceleration with tweaks. So until the next update........................ TTFN, M.
