Well spotted, Simi - I think we'll have to call you Hawk-Eye - like the surgeon in M*A*S*H - and, of course, the hero of J. Fennimore Cooper's 'Last of the Mohicans'. There you go, mate, over to you......... Cheers - Dai. :???:

I know you're itching for more clues, sooooo...... 1. There's no lift at this airport - everythings on the ground floor! 2. Here's a screenshot to put things into perspective: 3. Sorry, John, it is on Mut's side of the pond. Good luck!! Cheers - Dai :???:

Leg 58 Val de Caes SBBE to Guararapes Int'l SBRF
ddavid replied to A320cap's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Sorry to be slow, Panos - a well rounded leg with plenty of atmospheric shots, interesting commentary and touch of trauma! I'll admit that the quality of the screen-shots does make up for the scrabbling mouse (squeak'n'all!!) as my screen is 1024 wide (give or take a few pixies.....) Loved the edits - especially the halo effects on the AC, not seen that before. And, thanks for getting the baton through - look forward to your next leg. Cheers - Dai/David :???: -

Nice one, Phil and thanks for the HU on Vareg: http://www.varig.com/ And they'll be flying to Santiago soon....... Cheers - Dai. -
O.K. lads here we go again: More clues if you need them...... Cheers - Dai/David

No, not another quiz!! I saw this picture on the Soil Association website - they're worried about the carbon footprint associated with flying organic food into the U.K. (You probably know that New Zealand lamb is flown in and then put onto Tesco's shelves - and at a price lower than home-reared lamb - RANT, RANT.......) Anyway, what is the plane - the engines could be a Boeing, but which one? Answers on a PC...... Cheers - Dai/David
-
Not as much fun as this, though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_bedstead I remember seeing this on the TV - yes, we did have TV in those days (steam powered, though!!) Cheers - Dai/David

Nice one, Steve - are the thistles downloadable from AVSIM yet - I can't get them on FSX!! Cheers - Dai/David.

Hi Dave - hows about: Gateway to Monaco? Just follow the Yellow Line, sir!! Cheers - Dai/David

Leg 56, Georgetown SYCJ to Manaus SBBE
ddavid replied to B77W's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Hey, Sam - I really liked the screen shots - particularly the close ups of the under-carriage etc - that's a cool model. On the commentary front, there's a couple of Old Hangarians who more than make up for your 'lean and hungry' approach! Keep up the good work - the wrinkles will follow....... Cheers - Dai/David. -
I guess it has to be the join between two films? But it makes for a very nice architectural feature, don't you think? Anyway, I'm off to Bristol for the weekend - selling our organic black puddings. Enjoy the peace and quiet....... Cheers - Dai/David. :mrhappy:

Leg 53-Quito SEQU to Bogota SKBO
ddavid replied to wisemanp's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Thanks, Phil - good to have a professional around! BTW, Joe '...That was no Fokker, that was a Mescherschmidt....' - wonderful punch line, if only I could remember the joke, I said ... (falls asleep again) Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy: -
This is for you, John - yes, it's a fence, but a special one: I found it whilst doing some research for MRTWC SA Samba - it's in Chile, just north of Santiago, in a section of photographic scenery downloaded from AVSIM. I haven't discovered where the steps lead to yet, but I've got a ball of wool handy.... Cheers - Dai-Gonzales :mrhappy:

Leg 52: Panama MPTO - Quito SEQU

E! Bueno fuento, amigo - commentario excellente..... Salud - Dai-Gonzales. :mrhappy: -
Thanks for that, Sam - I recently found a book in the local library about the making of the Dam Busters film - it was a really good read, with plenty of info about the air-crews who flew the Lancasters (and other AC) for the filming. It really brought it home to you what the RAF boys were up against...... Cheers - Dai/David.

Thanks for the HU, Joe - if only my pocket money extended to $39.99!! You know, the only rich farmer is dead one...... Cheers - Dai/David. :mrhappy:

Excellent, Steve - well spotted - here's the follow up shot: I just love the dialogue in the film - my favourite is "Shee-yeahhh!!" Sorry, John - it would've been nice if it had been Sharon, but she's off the radar now.... Maybe I'll post another soon (oh no you won't! - Ed) Cheers - Dai.

I know you all can't bear the suspense since this post disappeared in the recent move (was it a deliberate omission by the Fat Controller? - We should be told........) Anyway,, here's the first clue again: Go on - have another guess - as I mentioned before, it has WW1 cconnections, but it's definitely nothing to do with War!!! Cheers - Dai.

Yes, Joe, I've seen this before - and it's not Bollywood at its best. If you want to see a really good Indian film then catch Rang De Basanti - it depicts young India in a very realistic way. Better still, get a copy of Bend it like Beckham - funnily enough, both films have aircraft in, so they may feature in future What's the Film - watch this space... (well, not this one - ed!!) Cheers - Dai/David. :cool;

Leg 51 - Caribbean Conclusion - Aruba to Panama City
ddavid replied to allardjd's topic in Around The World Challenge (ATWC)
Hi John - well, what can I say? First, I really liked the preface to your screen shots - setting the scene and building up the tension. Then, as Joe said, having real photo's of the identical plane was a brilliant tour de force and made the whole leg come alive! I'm glad someone knows where Sharon is - and I do hope she settles down now........ Fancy bumping into a Welshman in Aruba - whatever next?! I don't think I'd have accepted a package from him - half way round the world, indeed. The Leg itself was excellent - I liked the maps and commentary and I thought the ships queuing for the Ca -
Hey, Sam - many thanks for the HU - got to agree with John, it's the most entertaining FSX video I've seen too. Almost beats the 'Century of Flight' video (with the Freddie Mercury sound-track) for atmosphere - but this one scores 10/10 for action and pace. Cheers - Dai/David.

Yo Joe! Esta es Aeropuerto Internacional Mariscal Sucre - el Aeropuerto de Quito , Equador?? Oh Si - buenos tardes a el país de Gales. Salud - Dai/Gonzales. :mrhappy:

Hi John! Seems that my Pam is up to speed on the Dean front! When she looks at the UK weather forecast for our area in the morning (she likes to know what is in store for our holiday makers, here) she invariably follows the hyperlinks to foreign weather hot-spots. Normally, she tells me about flooding in Bangladesh (50% surface area under water) , snow in Santiago (didn't see any in your screen shot Joe!) or the most recent earthquake in Peru. It's an exciting breakfast in our house........ Maybe you can tell me - is there any real evidence that the weather with you is changing in respect of

MRTWC - Leg 50 : Isla Margarita to Aruba .........Sub-title : Pirates of the Caribbean...... Voices off.........Pieces of eight - Yo-Ho-Ho - A Vast Behind There!! ... etc, etc..... (Hey - what's that?? Ed) Well, here we are in the sunny Caribbean, on the lovely, very underpopulated (as far as FSX is concerned!) Isla Margarita. The next part of ATWC's Caribbean Calypso is from here to Ariba - a short trip over some stunning islands with lovely beaches and wonderful seafood: Now, before we start the Leg, I have an admission to make - FSX has virtually no add-on scenery for this area and t
