  1. Hi Joe - good move and thanks for looking after us Old Hangarians!! Forum looks good - it's different but 'plus ca change, nes pas??' Cheers - Dai/David  p.s. If anyone can bear it, I've got Leg 50 around here somewhere, now where did I put it.....
  2. Great shots and excellent commentary - well done, Joe and Dave, you make a good team! Seems that young Sharon's doing well, too..... Loved the Vid, Joe - magic music and perfect editing - sometimes I think you're wasted on us Old Hangarians - but many thanks for your time!! Cheers - Dai/David.

    Leg 47 of ATWC

Tell me, Joe, how many people have you got working for you now? I can't believe your output - and the quality is really good (not being patronising either!) Excellent vid - that's really something to aim ...... And am I envious of the scenery - I shall look up Tampa's website for Leg 50 as the default stuff is sparse, to say the least! Thanks for sharing - cheers - Dai/David. :mrhappy:
  4. Ace leg, Sam - glad you made it over the fence!! Cheers - Dai :mrhappy:
  5. Lovely shot of a gorgeous 'boat, Joe - thanks for posting. Good enough for a calendar? That one's possibly July - could we post the other months?? Cheers - Dai/David.
  6. Thank you, Martyn - my Mum and Dad used to live in Mallorca - on the outskirts of Palma just beyond Juan Carlos's palace, on the road to Malagoof (just after your tenth screen-shot). Lovely island and super people the Mallorceens...... And onto the screen size debate - not having a wide screeeen, I too have minor problems with panning. Now then, some forums use a 'big thumbnail' technique, where the screen shot appears at around 480x400 (approx) and you then click on this image for a full size picture. This makes downloading of long posts (yes, I'm as much to blame as anyone here!) much qui
  7. Nice one, Simi - glad to see a bit of storyline creeping in there! And, of course, the flight was meticulously executed, as usual. Cheers - David/Dai.
  8. Hi Joe Sometimes The Hangar takes time to come up with me, but I don't find it unacceptably slow. If you prersonally feel the need, then I'll back the move, otherwise, as usual, option 3 looks the best! Oh yes, a BIG THANK YOU to you, Joe, for keeping us Old Hangarians going - other forums pale into insignificance..... Cheers - Dai/David.
  9. Well done, Martyn - glad to see we're back to normal after that last leg...... Cheers - Dai/David.
  10. Hi both! Q1 - if you look closely, you'll see me (and the violin!) in the boom aimer's window below the tail.... Q2 - over too quickly, Paris fine and Parisians friendly - food, drink and culture high on the agenda, well worth it. Even the Eurostar bit was exciting as we went past CdG a couple of times, but no birds to see. Currently battling with FSX for Leg 50 of RTWC - Isla Marguerita is uninhabited at present - I'm getting the builders in.......... Speak soon. Cheers - David/Dai.
  11. Thought I'd share this with you: No editing - just fiddling :!: Cheers - Dai.
  12. Great shots, Joe - lucky b*gger! Hope to see some more from Fred when I get back from Paris (by train, so no pics for the Hangar, unless you make a new category: 'Nothing to do with FSim or aircraft!') Cheers - Dai.
  13. Leg 41 - Tampa to Key West Welcome to Leg 41 of Mutley's Round the World Challenge, which today flies from Tampa International down the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, across the southern tip of the Everglades, and then follows the Florida Keys, and Interstate One, to Key West International. Enjoy! The story starts in Juanuary 1914, with the world's first scheduled passenger service between Tampa and St Petersburg, Florida: So, this leg has to be flown in, yes, a sea-plane - here we are arriving to pick up the baton: Do you remember the Rarotonga to Honolulu MRTWC leg? Well, here comes
  14. Hope it's insured, Joe! Cheers - Dai.
  15. Now then lads, just behave yourselves when you get to Fairford,eh? And remind me to the landlord of the Square and Compass in Kempsford!! Cheers - Dai.
  16. Go on, Joe, the suspense is killing me! As long as there's at least one 'boat leg, eh? Cheers - Dai from Sunny Pembrokeshire. P.S. Cloud base too low yesterday to see your flashy new Boing going over!!!
  17. Well, where to start? Enjoyable - typical British understatement - bl**dy marvellous, more like it! Exciting - verily, the carrier T&G has more than a little of that element. Realistic - really liked the VFR part to Tampa at the end - still can't understand a word these ATC people say..... Hey, John - another masterpiece - thanks..... THINKS: How do I follow that???? Anyway, onwards and upwards, eh?!? Cheers - Dai/David P.S. Darkest Wales indeed, now look yer, boyo etc etc!!

    HELLO!!

Hi Kris and welcome! As you'll have noticed, there is a certain anarchic tendency in The Hangar - but some of us are almost normal. Give it time - you'll enjy the madness....... Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
  19. You certainly give us all something to aim at, Fred! I learn a bit more every time you share your shots - thanks!! Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
  20. I guess you've seen this promo video?? Wish I could do that...... Cheers - Dai.
  21. Is it Eccles (EGZZ) or Black Pudding Island?? Cheers - Dai.
  22. Cool, Sam - magic shots, but what was that thing in the rear view mirror?!? Cheers - Dai....
  23. Only hope my steam-powered PC is up to it - I'll need a new motherboard and NVidia card etc. Oh, yes, less of the old chap, thank you very much :cross: !! Cheers -Dai
  24. At the request of The Fat Controller, here is my first attempt at a video: http://www.simtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=cd8d7dd095917f9efe4c You can tell I've not done this sort of thing at all before, so just imagine what Dr Strangelove would have been like if I'd been asked ...... no, don't go there!! I used FS-Recorder to get the two aircraft together, and then recorded with FRAPS - but I had to reduce the FSX window to avoid 'jitters'. Then I 'blended' (a technical term, John!) the FRAPS bits with one of my favourite tracks - all with Windows Movie Maker - quite straightforward. Last
  25. Thanks Joe for the JF review and for letting me remember summer holidays spent in Bonchurch (east of Ventnor) - of fish'n'chip dinners, mystery bus tours(always to Blackgang Chine!) and bl**dy freezing swimming. There I go again, showing my age - I said 'there I......' etc. Cheers - Dai.
