There are spoliers on top of the wings which act as the ground spoilers. The spoilers on the back and the strong brakes replace the need for reverse thrust on the engines. You can see the rear spolier here-:

Great shots there! Some great traffic that ive yet to see at any airport ive visited AT JOHN- The reason the BAE 146 has this spoiler on the back of the fueselage is so that it creates no noise with reverse thrust engines to slow it down. This is one of the main reasons it flies out of London city due to being quiet, to prevent noise pollution to the surrounding area.

If I remember correctly this is the 2nd time in the space of a few weeks has been closed due to problems.First and aircraft came in with a hard landing damaging the gear and now the BAE 146 has closed it with an un-rectracable gear! LCY is now open

Whats now starting to worry me is that my uncle is an instructor based at St.Athan with the Cadets, although doubt he was aboard one of craft as we would have been notified by now

My grandad lives in Porthcawl, and it has to be said that its one of these places you would least expect an air crash. Judging by the wreck of the crash, im pretty sure all onboard are dead.

Dont think ive actually seen snow this much! Normally I see it in the news and its all up north, but have to agree quite alot of snow for the south east. Another wave of snow due to hit on friday. So mutters, you better stay in your kennel and keep warm :great:

Luton is shut.

LGW finnaly reopened at 10:00pm as it once was scheduled. LHR however has one of its runways shut.

Gatwick is closed at least till midnight. Situation started at 19:20 when the de-ice couldnt lift the ice on the runway up. Anti-ice has been put down all day but despite this its done nothing. ATC reported airport will open at 21:15 which then got put to 10:00 which has now been put upto 00:00. This is the second time this has happend within a 30 day period. The same thing happend when the de-ice for the runway froze to it. Surely Gatwicks airfield ops unit would have been more aware of this situation seing the effects first hand last time round in early January. According to my dad and inde

This is what this forum is all about- helping fellow simmers. Everyone here was in your position once, not having a clue what everything did but now most of us are landing our planes without touching the joystick. "why dosnt ATC work in multiplayer?" Although the aerosoft version is highly detailed I did suffer quite a drop in FPS. Having got the Heathrow Xtreme for free in there video competition, I quickly went to try it out! Overall i think its better on FPS than aerosoft on frame rates despite not having the extra detail. Although Garys scenerys are meant to cater for all pcs.

Hi, welcome to the forum Im assuming that this could be a sort of mulitplayer play if your flying with your buddys. If this is the case then ATC dosnt work in multiplayer for some odd reason. Think of it as them "going on strike"

email, pictures, video, weather forecasts, internet, games, WI-FI, world clock , mapping, directions (even to things such as cafes :biggrin: ) and of course music all in one small package! plus some other stuff I probably havnt discovered yet

Looks amazing! Have they started putting on the autogen yet?
