  1. It is a very good book, ideal for beginners like me or those wanting to brush on a few skills. Sadly I did not do the book justice. Due to work load and moving house I do not have the time to study and fly so I am just going to fly for a while and enjoy it rather than bogging myself down in theory. Mike
  2. Hi All, I am selling a copy of " Microsoft Flight Simulator For Pilots, Real World Training" on eBay. If anyone here wants it at the fixed price plus P&P shown get stuck in. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262714809915?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Mike
  3. You have two options, 2 x SIMS for the Airbus A380 and 2 x SIMS for the Boeing B777
  4. Sorry I can now see what CC was getting at. Yes you can land the SIM okay. Whilst we were watching the instructor on Sunday he landed a night time flight at Heathrow. it looked amazing with the light coming up at you and then touching down.
  5. Sorry CC, why are you biting your tongue, have you had a bad experience with this? Not sure I understand the second question however you can land the jet in the simulator, I think the web site said you have a choice of 20 destination airports.
  6. I thought the following may be of interest to those of you living, or planning to visit the UK. I took my grandsons on the Emirates Cable Car yesterday that leaves from the O2 Arena, travels over the Thames and into East London, you can stay on if you want and come back as we did. As we exited the cable car the guy said our tickets now allow free entry into the "Aviation Experience" next door. I will not go into to much detail so here is a link http://www.aviation-experience.com/ It is well worth a visit and the real simulators look great, they have 4 there
  7. Mmmmm interesting, that looks a lot better than the ipad program I use. I think my wife just lost the use of her Samsung Galaxy whilst I am flying
  8. Spot on John, I knew what I was buying as well, as you know I am still considered a newbie to this game and the thought of a "Flight School" appealed to me so I could use it alongside FSX. I subscribe to a couple of great guys on Youtube and the way they teach and get the lessons across to students such as myself are 100% better than DTG Flight School. I found this on Youtube posted by Jordan King I will take a look when I get home and you might want to share it at your club?
  9. I had my first lesson in Flight School last night and I have to be honest I am not that impressed. I do not have a SIM dedicated PC so it is not the best however it copes very well with Steam and FSX, SE. However Flight School was laggy, jumpy, missing parts of the picture and all sorts of other problems. My Saitek controls were very slow to respond in Flight School as well. Due to the above problems my first take off was awful however the instructor congratulated me and said I had passed and could move on to the next level. I found this surprising as I was expecting him to say som
  10. APPLE DOES IT AGAIN!! Apple computers announced today that it has developed a computer chip that can store and play Hi Fi music in women’s Breast implants. The iTit will cost between $499 and $699.00 depending on speaker size. This is considered to be a major breakthrough because women have always complained about men staring at their tits and not listening to them.
  11. Happy Birthday Alan, great story about the surnames. Mike
  12. I purchased this and downloaded it last night so I will keep you posted with both my progress through Flight School and the download in general. Mike
  13. Looking at the early comments/reviews on Steam this is not being well received. Shame because they have had enough time to develop the product. Mike
  14. I am not sure if it is the angle the picture was taken at but the pedals look a little too close together to me. Mike
  15. Thanks Brett, the sad thing is I am the boss but we are so busy at the moment I feel guilty playing around on here whilst all the staff are run off their feet. Still needs must

    New Monitor

Hi all, I am going to be in the market soon for a new monitor and was wondering what all of your thoughts were. At the moment I have a basic desk top PC with a Sharpe TV/monitor attached to it. It is okay but lacks quality. My plan is to purchase a dedicated PC for flight simming in approx 6 months time so in the meantime I am thinking about buying a new monitor for now and in readiness for when the new PC arrives. I may go for a double, or even triple screen set up in the future so does the purchase I am about to make have an impact on this because rather than splashing out on

  22. I like the look of this. AviatorCast (podcast) have just had done interview in a recent episode with the developer at DTG's and it sound exciting. being a newbie I get drawn to anything that involves a bit of training. Keep us posted Wayne Mike
  23. WHY CONDOMS COME IN BOXES OF 3, 6, AND 12 !!! A man walks into Boots with his 8-year old son. They happen to walk by the condom display, and the boy asks,”What are these, Dad?" To which the man matter-of-factly replies, "Those are called Condoms son. Men use them to have safe sex." “Oh I see," replied the boy pensively. “I've heard of that in health class at school." He looks over the display and picks up a package of 3 and asks, "Why are there 3 in this package?" The dad replies, "Those are for high school boys, one for Friday, one for Saturday, and one for Sunday." “Cool" says the bo
  24. A fleeing Taliban, desperate for water, was plodding through the Afghan desert when he saw something far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he hurried toward the spot only to find a British soldier selling regimental ties. The Taliban asked, "Do you have water?" The soldier replied, "There is no water, the well is dry. Would you like to buy a tie instead? They are only £5." The Taliban shouted, "You idiot infidel! I do not need an over-priced tie. I need water! I should kill you, But I must find water first!" "OK," said the soldier, "It does not matter that you do not want to buy a
