The Jokes topic (Do not enter if easily offended)
Jess-b replied to mutley's topic in Members General & Announcements
Ok, First off. I only found this thread today. Brian, Did you know that under my raven hair I'm actually a natural blonde? I'm afraid I may have to punish you, or fix your back. Depends on how well my 6 inch heels hold up whist i walk on you. Now Since I'm me. (not always the case some might say.) Here are some Goth Lightbulb jokes. Enjoy. How many goths does it take to change a lightbulb? What's a lightbulb? How many goths does it take to change a lightbulb? Three, oneto change it and two to talk about Lord Byron's Grand Tour and creative uses of laudinum in a metaphysical env -
A Flight for Tony. A special event 18th Jan to the 20th.
Jess-b replied to Jess-b's topic in Members General & Announcements
Thanks joe, Sorry I missed the link issue, but avsim had a royal moment after an upgrade, so the link ended up out of date. Anyway a quick update on the weekends activities. Things are looking up with pmdg offering as a prize, a copy of the upcoming 777 to one lucky donator, possibly before the rest of us smucks get it. In total, we've got around 56 prizes to give away over the weekend. Once again I turn you over to my collegue, Jane to explain. Guys, I just wanted to point out the prizes on offer for the Tony Radmilovich special flight on AVSIM. For those of you interested in the Boein -
Hi guys, Awhile back, I asked your help on behalf of my PC pilot collegue and friend, Tony. Well as part of a fundraiser two of my other collegues have put together a mass fly-in this coming weekend. With that in mind, I'll turn you over to my Deputy editor to explain what's happening. Posted 13 January 2013 - 04:52 PM Gang, As many of you will remember the team at PC Pilot have been working towards creating a sponsored event in aid of Tony Radmilovich, to help repair his spine so he can walk again. The link to the intial thread at AVSIM is here. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/387354-tony-

This was the trip from hell. It's not a great way to start a Pirep, I know, But this was a prime example of a lack of planning and sheer bad luck. Whist I knew what to expect at Yelizovo, having flown there last leg, Unalaska was a mystery to me. Despite this, I decided to be a bit carefree and just fly the route. Rising to a challenge from fellow around the world pilot Andrew, I took my pick of some heavy metal for the trip. I came down to a choice between a very classic Boeing 707 or the technically advanced MD-11. I choose the MD-11 due to the lack of VOR's for the 707 to follow. It was a b

Happy birthday John, and enjoy the ice cream. :-)

Day 2 - Kushiro to Hakodate Day two starts at a much more sensible time, and I'm not at Kushiro Airport until 10am. A breakfast of some small fish and rice, a bit of breakfast curry and a cup of coffee and myself and '1 Whiskey' are ready to go. I do a quick weather check and a review of the route. The news is generally good. Unlike yesterday, the skies at Kushiro are clear. Hakodake also reports clears skies, but I may run to some trouble at Sapporo where the weather reads heavy snow showers. Hopefully they'll clear by the time I arrive for a touch and go at RJCO. Today's route will see me d

I love Christmas. sure the Presents, the food and the drink are great, but what I love is the ability to spend some time doing what I like. So this festive season, I thought a little tour would be nice before I have to go back to work some time in January. I toyed with continuing with the Danube tour, but the weather has meant that Mike Zulu, my little Katana, is stuck until spring. So Where else to go. Well as luck would have it, I found myself in Japan for the ATWC, so I thought 'Why not tour Japan?' From there, the idea grew before the 'Land of the Rising sun Tour' was born. Japan is a very

I meet Marcel at Sapporo and i load the Baton into my case for the trip north into Russia. The weather in Sapporo is dry but cold, with snow covering the ground. Its to be expected in Hokkaido at this time of year. Being Japan's most northerly Island, the snow can be thick. Still it looks pretty. My route today will take me out from Sapporo and on to the VOR at Asahikawa before i turn towards the east and and the Memanbetsu VOR that will take me out over the Pacific and into disputed territory. From there i have to hope my aircraft doesn't suffer any issues as the next airport i'll reach will

It seems that the guys over at Aerofly fs have got some big ideas for their next sim. Reading thier plans, it could be a brand new, full world sim to compete with P3D or XPX. The inclusion of a open platform for 3PD's is very exciting. For more details check out this link. http://www.ipacs.de/forum/showthread.php/6110-aerofly-FS-Development-Status

Katana! Lol. It's good for about 500nm but since fsx has little data for ths area, stopping for gas may be an issue. Lol

My pleasure guys. I just need to come up with an aircraft for leg 21. :-)

It's never easy filling in for a downed pilot. With Brian out of action, I stepped in to fly his leg of the ATWC. Before I knew it, I found myself on a late night flight to Honk Kong from London, with a connecting flight on from there to Taiwan. As much as I love to fly, a late night flight is my least favourite especially in economy. (Whist the hangar of course covers our traveling expenses, Y is the best i could hope for.) By the time I arrived at Songhan, I was tired, it was the middle of the afternoon and all i wanted to do was grab a meal and hit the hay. A night in a hotel left me feel

Aww boss, that reminds me of the first time I had to program an fmc. I cursed it as witchcraft. Great pirep. :-)

I may get the F33 Bonanza for x-plane. Is supposedly very good. Of course it would help if they patched the aircraft for x-plane 10. Sigh.

Just to follow up, I'm sure a few will ask, "why not use FSHost?" Well on the face of things, FSHost is a brilliant option. It enables fs2002,fs2004, fsx and even P3D users to all fly in the same session on thier own server. But for fsx and P3D users though, there's an unfortunate side effect. Thanks to Microsoft's reliance on simconnect, fsx and P3D users will see thier aircraft behaving rather jerkily. This is because the FSHost software has to 'guess' where an aircraft is going. It does this various times a second, but simconnect is just to slow to make the flight look fluid. The guys wh

Mutley's Hangar guide to Multiplay In FSX Sadly, as many have found out, Microsoft has taken the decision to stop providing FSX users with Mutliplayer capability via Gamespy. Although it's a bit of blow, all is not lost. We can still all enjoy a little Mutliplayer fun is fsx by using 'LAN' and 'Direct Connection' to both host and join Multiplayer games. It just takes a few settings changes to make the system work. So here's a brief rundown of how to change these settings and how to get online. FSX Multiplayer Ok, so let's start here as for some, they may not need to make any changes

Mutley's Hangar End of Year Awards
Jess-b replied to rob16584's topic in Mutley's Hangar News and Announcements
Here's my 2 penny's worth, but I'll preface it by saying I'm generally not allowed to play with software,so when a new thing gets released and crosses my desk, it's usually hardware. 1. Orbx NZSI. A lovely place to fly 2. Orbx Bella Coola airport. A late release but perfect for so snowy fun. 3. UK2000 Cardiff. Finally a version of Cardiff that's spot on, well except there are more aircraft in the sim version! 4. Diamond katana 4x from aerosoft. In agreement with rob, you'll not come closer to the feel of real aircraft ownership than this. 5. Just flight's 737-200 profession. A crackin -
Product Review SimPlugins - Panel Builder 2
Jess-b replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
Great review Joe, much more in depth than mine in PC pilot (word count was against me). I really love panel builder, and with a spare base unit about to come online, I'll be enjoying four screens of bliss. The best thing about panel builder though is its price. Jess B -
Depends on the scenery I guess. I know aerosoft have on occasion have said use in P3D is ok. I think the general policy is 'turns blind eye' with aerosoft and Xpx. Personally I agree that it seems a little 'off'. However, and this is a bit of armchair lawyering here, I believe that the eu recently introduced a law governing EULA's and consumer rights. Iirc and I stress, I'm not sure, the law now basically says that once you've purchased the software, you can do what you like with it. It only applies in the eu though and even coves reselling of downloaded content. In the end though, I don'

Hi guys. The X-Plane forum's been a little quiet lately so I though I'd post this cracking video here that I found to show off some of XPX's progress. Firstly, as the title suggests, the sim is now available with both 32bit and 64bit versions. Currently 10.20b5 is the latest available beta and it introduces some new scenery art pieces, buildings and things and there's more to come. However, performance in 64 bit is very good and the following video shows how nice Xpx can look (albeit with a little help from fsx :-) ) anyway enjoy.
