I dont have the just flight cherokee, unless that is the same as the A2a one for fsx , which is excellent much better than their 172 however the archer (cherokee) in aerofly is quite good as well i havent flown it enough to evaluate its flight dynamics yet . as you say the visuals of aerofly are simply stunning, so much better than fsx

Thanks for that Dai, there is no getting away from it the scenery and the way it is portrayed is just mind boggling fsx even with france vfr rhone alps region cant compete with this.

wood eye ? all joking aside I am really enjoying this, and I normally get quite bored flying vfr especially in fsx, because all the planes fly the same . if only P3d could use this flight engine it would revolutionise our simming.

am I the only person in the world that has grave doubts about the security of our information that is stored on the cloud? a few years ago we were told back up and back up as you say to your own drive which is totally inaccesible to anyone especially if the computer is turned off. Now we are being told you must back up to the cloud as it is secure --- yeah right!! but whoever you back up with will disclaim any responsibility if your files are tampered with or destroyed. for me the cloud is a non event full stop. like gambling you only gamble with what you can afford to lose

LOL yeah as you say however 84 works for my setup but as in all these things it is trial and error and one man's meat is another mans poison however I will have to try 254 i hadnt come across that before -

Thanks for that one Ray, although many of us are used to delving into the darkest corners of FSX , something simple like a corrupted boot sector may cause someone to panic and format a drive as they are unable to get online to seek help . These little ideas might help someone when they least expect it, to retain things as mundane as family pics which might otherwise be lost.

unlike some people who think that aerofly is not sufficiently meritorious to warrant a review, I think that it has a lot going for it. Yes some of the guages dont work yet nor do the radios, but what does that matter, when you are flying around a beautiful country in VFR and you are just drinking in the scenery? in a relaible a/c one of the noticeable differences with fsx and xp10 is that things like mountains are not blurred if they are in the distance so it is like real life per se see what you think another thing is that the a/c seem to have more 3d depth to them ie not so flat

somehow I cant see a ryanscare pilot trying to do this and falling foul of MOL

You all probably know this but it is a dodge that I have used on friends computers that have been disabled by a virus, or a boot sector problem You can download a version of UBUNTU and put it on a USB memory stick and insert it into the usb socket , so that when you boot up the p.c. instead of letting it boot up as normal you hit F12 to get the boot menu and you tell it to boot from the USB stick. ubuntu is a brilliant OS and doesnt suffer from the problems of windows, it boots up quickly recognises all your components and you can then download all the info that is important on your block

I spent many a day on the ex ba trident sim near biggin hill which had pretty good dynamics . As you say none of the current "sims" have anything close to real dynamics however the aerofly exrtra 330 is an exception you cabn do aeros in it that fsx and xp can only dream of. as for the others the dynamics are still not perfect but they are a lot better than fsx etc it is difficult to describe , but when you experience it you appreciate that the whole simulation and "feel" is mote accurate. as for clmbs to altitude etc speeds at set throttle openings I have yet to get to that stage, as I have on

Just downloaded my review copy of aerofly plus a cherokee 180 add on, set up the joystick and have been flying circuits. All I can say is WOW!!! this is years ahead of xplane10 in so many respects as well as FSX when it comes to flight dynamics. It is so much simpler and logical to setup the joystick compared to XP a stall in the 172 is a real stall, do it power on and like the real plane you can end up on your back , most realistic the sounds are as good as the A2A 172 (wind noise etc) the graphics are really great, fully loaded up I am getting 115 FPS !!! this is just rid

I will post the .cfg a bit later as i am downloading aerofly FS at the moment and the cfg file is on another hard drive. I must admit the 5 mods that I found on the LM site made my P3D useable , out of the box it was hopeless I then still had blurried scenery until the jobsheduler mod was tried that gave me a 6fps improvement, i now need to try it with FTX stuff because that made it grind to a halt before. -
Al, glad you got a new card, welcome to FSX just as we are all going to P3D , no I am just kidding!!!as you get used to fsx try running the sliders slowly but surely more and more to the right, for the moment get rid of trees casting shadows and also the plane casting shadows as these kill performance, autogen should for the moment be in the middle. Once you have some confidence there are some lines that you will have to add into the fsx .cfg to stop crashes but Rome wasnt built in a day,--- Enjoy

flying in these a/c as I did from London to west africa as a youngster is no doubt the reason why I am mutt and jeff now, sitting next to a bellowing merlin or hercules for all those hours must have some long term effect

this makes my hair stand up On Jul 9th 2014 a (so far unverifyable) explanation was leaked from inside Barcelona ATC stating that the aerodrome was about to shift from night to day time operation. Runway 02 had been active for the night and was about to become inactive for the day operation with both runways 25 active. Incoming air traffic controllers for the day shift operating the ground frequency thought runway 02 was already inactive and cleared the Aerolineas A340 to cross the runway although on tower frequency tower had issued a landing clearance to the UTAir Boeing 767 with a number

an interesting observation Kevin , however our p.c's are virtually identical in performance so my problem isnt there, it will be interesting to hear other peoples views. it will also be interesting to see how you see your version run if you change jobschedular from 14 to 84 (the fsx setting) it made quite a difference for me -
My father explained to me that the lancaster (lancastrian) was an inferior aircraft to the Halifax (halton) which he flew for BOAC after the war to west africa because of its liquid cooled engines. the problem comes when they fly in icing conditions ie high over mountains , the ice being acreeted and also being thrown off the props peens over the radiator fins, thus blocking the passage of air, causing the engines to over heat. If you are over mountains when this happens you cannot descend to get rid of the ice, or to land to repair the radiators, so you crashed . it was exactly this that

I know nothing about steam, does this mean you will be able to buy fsx and download it, or will it be pay per play. If its going to be pay per play they might as well stop now because that will be a loser from the start. Still it is good to know the rumors were true

Well for the few of us that are messing with P3D I have finally made progress and got it to work nearly as well as FSX in DX10 mode, and believe me it isnt simple it requires quite a lot of changes in the .cfg file. Initially using ftx england and a few FTX airports I could only fly for about 20 minutes before it just got too jerky to fly anymore , but by using a lot of the FSX .cfg mods I have managed to get it (for the moment) where I can start to enjoy it, so am installing more scenery and trying to fly longer legs. I do think though that L.M. would be on a sticky wicket if someone in

Do they still play football with a round ball ?? how quaint!! All joking aside the Germans won the last war hands down!!!, because they are now ruling Europe with an Iron hand that is leading to poverty and financial dependence in all of Europe.

Chris, kevin and I have been saying this from day 1, I believe he was under threat of being banned from the FTX forums, as he created such a noise. It is quite clear that JV shot himself in the foot , this we have also voiced on several occasions, and now he has retreated to the US and and putting his toe in the water on some of the Pacific Isles. It serves him right really ,with his brash (typically aussie) style of management. Apparently, from what I have gleaned, his style did not go down well with those that worked here for ftx, a few questioned his choice of UK airports , and suggested w
