setting the radios is fine, i can't answer your query on the joystick throttle but I cant see that being a problem the main problem is the program was released and it was not really ready, it is now up to version 1.4 with hotfixes as well and IMHO there is still a long way to go before they can draw a line underneath it and start another project. The MCDU is very complcated compared to the pmdg ngx. My advise would be buy the pmdg ngx if you can afford it, it flies superbly and everything works as it should do. There is no doubt aerosoft will get the airbus reasonably correct quite soon ho

I think he was Joe however he saw no value in "gongs" as they were called and as a young boy i was given them to play with and that was the end of them.

At first I thought this may have some reference to our meat supply now receiving arabic donations but am pleased to see a great pic

That old avro york is now restored I believe at Duxford ! and the comet that was there and at blackbushe was bought by Richard Branson with the intent to get it airworthy but once again there was a problem with british airways so that fell on stony ground. the last time I was at Lasham an MK airlines DC8 landed. Sadly now it is difficult to even get on the field there are security barriers blocking the roads and patrols as well . The publican sold up and created a Boar farm down in Devon (we still swop xmas cards) Many of my pub friends worked at the airfield. There was also the big marshmel

thanks for the plaudits guys Yeah Joe it is france vfr (their paca vol 1 and 2 ( http://www.francevfr.com/product_photopa1.htm)) the only problem is that it interferes a bit with the 3d scenery just outside Nice airport and in Nice town but once outside Nice no problems and if you follow the river inland at say 1500 feet the gorges are quite good I followed it all the way inland to castellane airport and landed there the hills are pretty good. Their Corse (corsica) scenery is really good as well.

yeah I thought that would be the case, but nice for other members on the site to see i have landed there with my aztec but mosttly with a c207

This is an airstrip that I have landed at about 6 times , it belongs to a friend of mine. I first visited it about 20 years ago I suppose , maybe less, because there was an accident damaged cessna 206 for sale there (nose leg damage) but it was an older version so i didnt buy it, however a few years later a friend who runs the flying school at Sandown on the isle of white bought the farm and his son now runs a micrlight training school from there. The approach is interesting as just behind the grey industrial site (in fact it is a caravan and camping car center) there are some high pwer cable

Orbx Releases FTX: EU EGSG Stapleford Airfield
britfrog replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
it seemed to fit into gen x quite well the stitching was the fileds just outside the peritrack and golf course however to be honest I didnt do a really thorough examination, all the buildings were there , however the farm house a few hundred meters away was a bit incomplete and wonkey, and none of the ftx parked a/c were there. To be honest I gave it a rough try and decided that I needed to buy the england disk, which is after all what they are after. However Goodwood works fine the only error I could see was where there is a tunnel to get to the interior of the track in gen x there was a weir -
nice one i take it that is france vfr scenery?

here are a few more, the beaufighter is circling the battle of britain memorial where my father is one of those commemorated , the airfield is Lasham wher I spent many a happy day when the kids were young, as there was a brilliant pub in the village where i could take the kids, have a pint or two then lie in the grass on the airfield and watch the gliders,, peaceful bliss!!

Dont say that!!! I just got it figured out, I think

I will see if I can find the post by JV it was quite enlightening , unusual for him As I recall you had to delete a couple of large BGL files Understandably it was at your own risk -
Orbx Releases FTX: EU EGSG Stapleford Airfield
britfrog replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
I bought stapleford and installed it on top of generation X, one of the advantages of the new fsx attitude is that when you buy an airfield from them it is literally that and no longer any surrounding scenery as that is expensive for them to buy. However whilst all the airfield buildings were correctly portrayed there were no ai aircraft and a few other things didnt appear like the fuel bay but at least 80% was there so it is useable with generation x and i have seen a thread on fsx where JV does tell you which files to delete if you dont want any conflicts. However I weakened and bought -
i agree with Joe stapleford has got to be theie best so far BTW whose auster is that? it seems to be very well made

I also agree that I cannot see touch screens becoming main stream except for some particular work like composing, and I tend to think the p.c. makers agreed and suffered the anger from M.S. for not supporting win8. My screens are also out of my reach in any case who wants to have to clean a monitor twice a day?

Ok you have had a few months to get into p3d i would like to ask the peanut gallery a few questions about it: Are there definite performance improvements over fsx and how do they make themselves evident. What are the CURRENT advantages of p3d over fsx? Do you use p3d more than fsx now? and why? is there any part of P3D that isnt as good as fsx, what would you have changed? Thanks
-
It is true that fsx is 32 bit and can only address 4gb however by having more memory it allows the graphics card to address more higher memory areas and that improves graphics performance which is to some degree a bottleneck in fsx, and having the extra memory also allows other programs like opus or rex and flight planners to have enough memory for their uses without taking anything from fsx. Whenever i upgrade i find there are very small performance differences, however try going back to 4gb memory or 8 from 16 and you will see a big difference, i did it because some one somwhere said anyth

if you have problems when changing from say a win 7 drive to win8 and it wants to defrag and check for errors, I did receive an email from M.S. technet indicating that you must do some manipulation to stop fast boot because win 8 puts something on every drive to make it boot faster. all i have done is pull the plug on the win 8 drive and when i want to play with win 8 i plug in the drive and disconnect the others. not a happy situ but better than losing a drive and having to do a re-installation. as you say for 20 odd pounds it is worth a play, and it has one or two nice bits but i cant see it

Orbx Releases FTX: EU EGKA Shoreham Airport
britfrog replied to mutley's topic in News and Press Releases
well they are certainly kicking them out thick and fast ! However this doesnt seem to be as well made as stapleford from the available pics, I do hope i am wrong because the terminal building is amazing from the airside (i have never seen it from the land side). It also appears that the aussies are under the impression it is always dark and raining in the uk judging by the pics which may give some moodyness but dont enhance the pics at all. -
an interesting insight John i guess that makes all of us here in Europe subjects. Has anyone here seen the green zone? i watched it this afternoon, gives some idea to the duplicity of governments (edit) I wonder what non americans think of what john has said above, my wife is in contact with another american on the west coast who is also buying up as much ammo as he can afford and is stockpiling it whenever a dealer in his area has some ammo available. am i alone in europe to think this is a worrying trend? do we feel we should be doing the same? even if we were able to have a gun per

http://fr.flightaware.com/squawks/view/1/7_days/popular_new/31781/Blimp_like_aerostats_are_heading_to_D_C_area this caught me eye, we used to have these for years in southern florida apparently to catch the drugs flights from south america. now they are being used to target cruise missiles ! now wait a minute who other than the US has cruise missiles? perhaps russia but no-one else has and even if they did they dont have a ship capable of delivering them close enough to America to launch them So WTF? Perhaps they are being installed to ward off the possibility that the pentagon may

The "russian " engine has been doing the rounds since 2001 according to snopes it has attributed to chinese and other airlines . The engine which has 46 blades is a pratt and whitney JT9D-7J which has never been used on a russian a/c and not in china since 2004 (production stopped in 1990) The safety belts were aooarently used while the engine was moved after suffering some kind of FOD So we can assume this is a hoax.
