  1. Definitely a potential 10 out of 10 brown trouser moment! ;-)

    Capt Sims 707

Reckon it might be , though I might wait for a Flightsim store sale first ;-) Steph
  3. On this day in 1964..... the first completely automatic blind landing of a passenger plane took place in dense fog (must have happened in England; fog is something we have a lot of). The aircraft was the iconic HS Trident, a truly remarkable piece of engineering, flown by guys with balls of solid rock!
  4. Diet Coke Break man...ok, maybe he's a bit more tanned than porcelain but hey, he's still a god IMHO ;-)

Noooooo ! Just realised that my Captain Sim 707 is the fs9 version. I could have sworn I had the fsx as well because I have the 727 for fs9 and fsx. Oh thats a pain... dont fancy having to re-buy that one. What a shame they cant do the same as the C130 and do an upgrade from the fs9... Anyone wanna buy my fs9 707? :-(
  6. That's why we love you girls, knowing you will buy Train Simulator 2014 for him.. Or a motorcycle. Pretty intuitive.... I did buy him the motorbike, lol ;-)
  7. My wonderful husband has just pulled out his visa card and ordered Rex Xtreme for Christmas. Now thats what I call a result!
  8. Thanks everyone for the advice.. looks like I might have to pull out the Visa card after all Ah... now, let me tell you a useful tip .. you have to install aircraft onto the same drive as FSX, but then you can move them where you want. All you do is set up a separate folder on another drive (I use my 1TB) and then you 'move' the aircraft files from the Sim Objects folder then FSX remembers where you moved them. You need to make sure that you move the folder and not copy it or it doesn't work. If you want t delete the aircraft you do the same thing in reverse.. move it back ac
  9. Hi Jim Thanks for the pointer. So it sounds like the program can just be used to set up specific textures and then once they are generated and saved, the program isn't accessed again.. If that's the case then it doesn't need to constantly run in the background so it could go on one of the other slower drives... I'm not planning on using anything else like Opus or Active Sky here.. Am I right or missing something else ? Thanks Steph Ps. anyone know when the 1/2 price offer ends so I know how many evenings I have to work things out ?

I have the 727 and the 707 and love them both. Its been a while since I flew them and I haven't got around to putting them on my new rig, but I agree with the previous comments. If you love the 72, you'll love the 70.. Steph
  11. Hi there OK, I'm biting! The half price offer on REX Xtreme with Overdrive has caught my attention.. problem is that it requires a minimum of 30GB of hard drive space. 30 GIGABYTES !! My set up is as follows: C Drive = 128GB SSD which has the OS, my docs, FSX routes etc. There is currently about 50GB of space left D Drive = 256GB SSD which has FSX all my scenery add ons and aircraft (currently) E Drive = 1TB HD which has my image backup for my PC and will soon have some of my aircraft on (I'm going to 'Move' them from the D drive to a 'hangar' which I have set up) F Drive - 160
  12. Thanks for the advice everyone. I will try it out with some other pics soon. Took a few moonlit photos for the screenshot comp when landing in Hong Kong but realised it almost impossible to see the plane so back to the drawing board. I'll persevere Steph

    REX is on sale...

Thanks for the heads up John ! There are some other great bargains on there such as the Saitek Yoke and pedals set, and Simplates X I'm seriously tempted to part with some pennies..

    New moving map.

Hi John I downloaded the same piece of software only this morning! I really wanted to use Plan-G having seen it in action at the Flight Sim Show, Cosford the other week, but just couldn't get it working. Apparently it is due to my Triple Head To Go and the fact that to see an un stretched cockpit in full screen view, I cant use Plan-G (unless anyone out there with the same set up can enlighten me).. The FSX GPS works on the 4th monitor but not Plan-G I have FS MovMap running on my Samsung Galaxy Tab and it works pretty well. Easy to set up although I haven't tried loading flight
  15. Question... do I do the same thing if I wanted to enter the screenshot competitions? I know that I need to make it about 1200 pixels wide in total but is the process still as I have added the image above ? Sorry.. being a bit of a numpty here..
  16. Thanks Geoff.. reckon I'm getting the hang of it now
  17. TCH TCH! Fruit, especially grapes. ok... not quite as healthy but... Fruit.... Loops!
  18. Hiya OK, this is my first attempt at posting a picture (fingers crossed). Thought I'd do a quick circuit from Goodwood to Salisbury Plain and back this morning. Just as the sun rose, the ancient stone circle at Stonehenge became visible below me. Even without Rex, its not a bad pic ps. as I use a triple head to go, the photo is 3 times the width of a normal pic so you'll need to scroll right to see it all. Steph
