you’re going there again Kevin? it’s funny you can’t see the big picture you’re getting frustrated with things not working when it’s a product in development; you are coming to it with base expectation to be at least as good as FSX and it will be; it just takes time to embed all this into code you know what it is; it’s like a little genius child he can resolve complex math in split seconds and he is fast as any but when his mom yells at him; he will start crying as he is still a young child thats P3D for you; stop yelling at our genius and let him grow

Night Environment vs. Real Life Night shoots
MyPC8MyBrain replied to MyPC8MyBrain's topic in Screenshots
Thank you Kevin, very perceptive of you Yes we do place high regards to light placement; how dense they are; color spread and the global “feel” The more accurate we are; our nightmap footprint will match NASA’s Black Marble night footage; Which is high priority with us- 4 replies

Night Environment vs. Real Life Night shoots One of our team members got back from his vacation in Corsica Island real life night shoots compared side by side to Night Environment representation for the same area I thought it who’d be fun to share Enjoy Ajaccio, real life Ajaccio FSX Coti-Chiavari, real life Coti-Chiavari, FSX (A is the point which my real pic was shot from; D is the aiming direction) "I'm pleased to see how our work is a rather acceptable representation of the reality."

they stopped supporting/fixing asm code http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=7283.0 with that there are other ways to achieve the same result people are used to do things in a certain way (old habits die hard) there is no point in enhancing an old technology instead of developing a new one

you’re on the money there Nigel; that’s very true in all aspects; i know Dev’s who simply refuse to consider P3D atm as a stable platform for development even those mentioned above and the rest of us all looking to LM to open the floodgates with 64bit support when thats out; it is the kiss of death to FSX platform; everyone will migrate! i foresee two parallel platforms working side by side a 32 and 64 bit; both P3D, but no FSX support.

its just the proc manufactures making the most from the current technology before they come out with new set they are at least two generations ahead in development; it’s not economical for these large corporations to release new technology when there allot more money to be made with the current one its been like this since the cave man bonged his Miss. on the head yes sometimes they have a roadblock in technology but once that wall is down; its always a huge leap

Thank you guys, Our developers “think tank” explored some of these technologies I’ve mentioned above The potential is staggering; many of you seen the 3D modeling google earth is using more and more recently The ground level view option, that’s what im talking about Through it takes a massive computing power to render the city the way they do it in google earth Be sure we are working very hard to get us all there; that’s where we are going with our Sim future Imagine you flying through this fully 3D real world textures; the mind boggles with possibilities Allot of this is hinged n

its funny to hear these things don’t give up hope just yet; there are so many new technologies out there tools are being developed and many new features will be added some of us are waiting for the 64bit platform to fully express their aspirations there are many new ways to enhance our sims from 3D models, to accurate Lidar mesh and much much more

Hi Nigel i get that annoying memory popup sometimes for no apparent reason, once i hit cancel it goes away that’s the only bug I've encountered with Win8.1 keep in mind the platform is not designed for ones need specifically therefore all the messing around and removing unneeded process and application's untangling permissions; and freeing up the pc to do as you wish i have no doubt that in the near future this memory thing will get resolved in the meantime; i can live with that knowing it's a win8.x issue all it is really is one of us lazy bums post this issue to MS; and they wi -

i have to admit i have done allot of "work" on my 8.1 platform before i was happy with it to be fair; i also do the same thing with W7 and XP i untangle the knots the MS engineers leave in the OS i call it free wilily OP, when I'm done i have full control on my system none of the security alerts, restrictions or nag windows; no FW, no AV, no indexing, no updates and no unneeded process is working without me knowing it to give you an idea; up to about 9 months ago i refused to let go of my XP SP3! W7 wasn't good enough for me, W8 didn't do it as well 8.1 has something ve -

Nigel I'm running win8.1 with no major issues (just few) i develop on 8.1; i had 8 installed on my Yoga when i bought it i have upgraded it to 8.1 (i always reinstall a new factory installed computer) i refuse to look back, i still have few win7 around; whenever i get on one of these it feels like i went back in time; with the interface being so much less intuitive and friendly i can't go back to 7 now; and i assure you it works fine I'm willing to bet you've installed it in the default location the installer suggests and not as advised to install outside the system root drive (C:\)
